Booked by relatives (who are now horrified!) this was a two night stopover in Christchurch before we went touring. The location is good, easy access from airport by taxi and on bus route into town. The room was outdated and looked shabby and the bathroom was awful. There were problems with no hot water, which wasn't remidied during our stay but we were offered complimentary breakfast on the second morning by way of recompense. the corridors were filthy with what appeared to be a vomit stain on the carpet, the lift only took luggage and was blocked off and the area was residential with no amenities. Sure it was cheap, but for a few dollars more there is a lot more to be had.
