“Confortable and lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2011

We had a lovely time there. It was very easy to find the house at 40 Thornycroft street. The rooms were big, very clean and confortable. We got impressed with the house. She has a big and beautiful house. Lots of lovely details and very organized. Viv was adorable. She gave us lots of tips and suggestions about christchurch. We felt very embraced with her hospitality. The breakfast was delicious!!! Also, she has a special granola that she prepares by herself. I am definately coming back when I have a chance!!!

From the moment we drove in, we were impressed. We are very fussy about cleanliness, this place is spotless and Viv applies attention to detail. Viv was warm and friendly on our arrival, welcomed our children, gave us hints of where to go and how to get there. Spoilt us with scrumptous food, sent us to a great restaurant within walking distance. Thanks Viv for making our first visit to Christchurch enjoyable. Next time though we could do without the earth tremors.

I really enjoyed my stay at 40 Thornycroft B and B. I travel a lot for work and this is by far the nicest and most comfortable place I have stayed.

I have now stayed several times for both work and leisure and I always look forward to returning. The beds are extremely comfortable with lovely linen and everything is spotlessly clean. Vivienne is a great hostess, very friendly and genuinely helpful. Breakfast is always delicious.

Highly recommend.

A very quiet and full of art Bed and Breakfast is waiting for you to come in the very outskirt of the central Christchurch.
Surrounded by lots of parks and bushes, you definatelly find yourself totally relaxed and
breathe deeply than usual. Sky in the sunrise and sunset really attracts you and cannot express in one word. Vivienne, the owner has well sense of arts and is so kind to consult each small question about your stay. ( I exchanged emails over 10 times before I decide to 40 Thornycroft Street Bed and Breakfast.)
The cozy and beautiful house has its full of art, which has been decorated by Vivienne!
Ruby, the beautiful cat is also waiting for you!

An excellent B & B with a wonderful host, set in a peaceful location whilst being handy to a number of facilities. The accommodation was very clean and spacious and the bed afforded a very comfortable rest . We would stay at 40 Thornycroft Street again and can recommend it to couples.

Our stay was 3 nights in Feb and 2 nights in March before leaving NZ. Vivienne is a great host and runs an excellent home from home bed and breakfast. Could not fault anything. The bed was soooo comfortable, we had our own en-suite which was thoughtfully furnished with accessories. Breakfast was delightful, beautifully presented and more than sufficient. Her home was our home during our stay.
Vivienne was extremely friendly and informative, and we enjoyed hearing about the history of NZ and the Akoroa Peninsular.

The B&B makes me comfortable, like visiting friend's home. Miss Vivienne is very Friendly, and I could relax like visiting my friends. If you speak no English,it may difficult to communicate with her. But, it is no problem, if you can speak some (bit?) English or learning English. She speaks gently and slow pace. There are new bathroom and it had cleaning up.sophisticated bedroom and garden.it makes me dream "I'd like to live the home like this!" You can choice 2 types of breakfast. If you ask Vivienne, you may use wireless internet connection.I'd like to stay again.
