“Funky food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013 via mobile

Would eat here every night for a week if I could, so much on the menu, coupled with excellent service. Three of us dined on a Friday evening, it was busy, jam packed - that said service was excellent, but the food to die for. Bluffies on the menu, followed by dumplings and then great dessert. Well worth a vist, gets my vote.

“Food to die for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Great eatery hidden down a lane in Victoria Street. Bookings a must, however we chanced it one night and ended up eating tapas in the bar for dinner, which was just as delicious. Plates must be shared amongst each other, fantastic fusion of flavours. Love your wallpaper - got to be seen by all.

“Nice ambiance.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

It's nice to have a nice Resturant in chch again. Unfortunately several people are looking for that as well so it's hard to get in to eat a meal it's very busy and loud. Because its more up scale you do get a few in there that want to be seen but you don't get the young kids in there becuase the higher end prices which is nice. The food is nice and there make fabulous cocktails. We will go back.

“Didnt meet expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I was really keen to go here for my birthday meal and assumed it would be like the old Indochine which was a place where we enjoyed some nice meals. My hubby made a confirmed reservation (the 2nd only he has made himself in our 10 yr relationship) but when we turned up the maitre'd fluffed about and didnt have us on his "list" which made us feel a bit stink. The evening seemed to go down from there. We were seated by the front door and hubby had to get up and down all night to shut it as the smokers from the bar were constantly going outside and leaving the door wide open. All evening I was hot, cold, hot, cold and Im not near menopausal. The music was super loud so as a couple we strained to make conversation and in a group it would be impossible. The menu wasnt exceptional and the mains very expensive!!! We wanted to do the plate to share thing so we ordered a few plates off the entree menu. Our waitress was very young and not that forthcoming about good choices. What we chose was okay but not stunning. I will compliment the entree salad as that was one bite and delicious but I cant find anything else to rave about. The decor looks like Indochine, dark and Asian but it definitely wasnt Indochine. There are other places that do the "plate to share" thing so much better. We left feeling a bit flat. :0(

“OK Asian/NZ fusion in Christchurch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

5 of us went and had a nice night out - good food - okay service - costs above average and we did feel slightly cramped and as others have mentioned, it can be noisy.

Meals are placed in the middle to be shared - 4 starters and 4 mains and 1 exotic vegable plus free rice cost $50 per head - so up there in terms of price!. Food was a NZ fusion take on pan asian style food - which on the whole worked very well and we enjoyed all of our dishes. If I was to return for this number of people I would order 1 less main.

Cocktails and wine were good although service on securing second orders a little slow..
