We made a loop around the southern half of the South Island ending our trip in Christchurch. Thus we stayed at Eliza's twice in two different rooms. The manor is a lovely Victorian and the interior (other than the bathrooms) fully embraces the Victorian theme. Rooms and baths in the Heritage rooms we were in were huge (there are two classes of rooms).
I loved having the choice of cooked breakfast -- all of which were wonderfully prepared.
Ann of course is amazing.
One quibble -- I wish the wireless high speed internet was free like so many other B&B's. But the cost was pretty reasonable so the cost won't keep me from highly recommending this B&B.
Tip - don't take the gondola ride in the late afternoon to try and see Mt. Cook -- you'll be looking into the sun and won't see much.
