“Clean and Convenient Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We arrived around 2.20 am long after check-in time. We got our room key with precise instruction given prior to our arrival and head into our room easily during that cold wet morning.

Motel room was clean, basic and small but served our purpose of catching some sleep for a couple of hours. Water pressure for the shower was a bit low though.

The park ground was nice and tidy and staff helpful and friendly. This will be a good place to stay if you don't mind basic accommodation. The rate for the flat we booked was the cheapest around that area in Christchurch.

Staying here for our last night in New Zealand it was a convenient location for airport, good value and clean room with us using the kitchen facilities in a park for the first time as there was no cooktop. We had to ask for electric fry-pan from the office which was no problem, kitchen was clean and tidy. Park staff very helpful and friendly. Surprisingly quiet considering the location being on the main road and our room backed onto it! Good place for first or last night in Christchurch.

This is a very good park. Close to the city and airport and only a few minutes drive to Westfield shopping centre and there is also an assortment of shops along the road out the front of the park. Bus stops also along this road.
The park itself is extremely well cared for and very clean, well organized and it is obvious that the owners take pride in their park and they were extremely friendly and welcoming.
There are a lot of personal touches here, ie flowers and hairdryer in the bathroom, comfy lounge in the TV room which is nicely heated and well stocked with TV, reading material etc. Kitchen is clean and the washing machines are only $3 compared with $4 at most other parks. Clothes dryer is $1 at a time so a couple of dollars is all that is needed for a small to medium load. The park itself is not large but instead a comfortable size and it is easy to watch your children playing at the park. We had a powered site but there is also onsite accommodation which was completely booked the night we stayed. The powered sites were almost full as well.
We would happily stay here again. This was an overnight stop for us, we did arrive around 10am in the morning well before official check in time and there was no problem with early check in.

We came here in our campervan for our first night in New Zealand because it was good value so close to the city. The bus ride was very convenient and it is within walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants. After three weeks of exploring we came back here on our last night because it was good value so close to the airport. It is clean, well organised with great facilities for cooking and showers. There is an attractive playground for children and the staff can always point you in the right direction whatever you need. If you are looking for an efficient location to start and finish your stay on the South Island, this is it.

Went on a short trip to CHCH recently and the city is great. We stayed in Amberpark on the last night because of the endless options they have. The staff are really friendly and are spot on in there diner recommendations. They really did bend over backwards to help us. The price is good to. However the main bad thing was i didnt sleep at all the noise from the road and adjacent rooms kept us up all night, Amberpark is quite dated and reminds me of an old Butlins back in the UK, HOWEVER it served its purpose and thats didnt matter, the main problem was the lack sleep.

Room Tip: Maybe take your own camper van as that seems to be a good option here.

Thanks for the feedback, we are sorry for the noise created by other customers in the camp.
We do have a 24 hr phone system outside the office door that will get through to us & we would be able to address the problem , we would encourage cutomers to use the phone if other customers are creating noise & disturbing their sleep.

I had a wonderful time with the staff, the campsite itself is well situated, easy access for town and the shops yet out enough to relax and chill out. Fantastic facilities, great enviroment. A truely enjoyable stay, and I look forward to returning in the near future.

We spent our last 2 nights at this beautiful park; wonderful staff; well maintained/equipped. Convenient location; on city bus line and 10 minute drive from airport. They were very helpful with city map; highlights to see and restaurant options, if needed. (We had experienced five other parks on the south island, prior to our experience here.) Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Cannot comment on the rooms; we were in an RV.
