“Great place to spend time at”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

Went as a family 3 adults 2 kids, the tram rides were the high light for the kids. Entry fee was affordable. Easy to walk round the whole place. The displays are well put together and very informative.Great step back in time for all. The bakery where you can purchase freshly baked food looked good. A interesting place to visit but allow plenty of time to see it all.

“A great family day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We visited over Labour weekend and had a very enjoyable day out. Tickets usually $25 per adult, under 5's free and $12 for kids.
We enjoyed unlimited steam train, electric train, tram and bus rides. The double decker open air electric tram was fabulous.
There are also model trains, vintage cars and planes on display, along with old stores and a school house where they do old fashioned lessons. Heritage children's games are played by staff and children in period costume.
We bought our own picnic lunch and enjoyed a great family day out.

“Family fun while learning History - For ALL AGES!!! : )”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Take the family young and old to enjoy our Heritage past for New Zealand. See the old original mud hut and old grand "in their day" cottages.

Check on Ferrymead's website for running days, where you can enjoy people in period costume doing what they did in the old days. Makes you appreciate how lucky we are today!!

A lovely little cake shop or pack your own pick-nick and have fun enjoying viewing some old equipment functioning today. All thanks to the people who give their time freely to repair and maintain Ferrymead for your entertainment.

In the Theatre, you can dress up in period costume and have Sepia photo's taken.Something lovely to treasure. Great for couples, and families.

Come on everybody, grab your pick-nick lunch and have a fun day, even free rides on their Tram, just hail it down and ENJOY!!!

“Tries to be a fun and cozy park but it isnt.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

My girlfriend and I visited the ferrymead today and was deeply dispointed! When we arrived we tried the London double decker and the taum which was funny and enjoyable, but soon we both felt that something was wrong and reliaesed that the park didnt fell very heritageish. The park is too big compared to the number of houses and gallries, some buildings seemed to fall apart, the streets is asphalt/concrete instead of just dirt(maybe only me that think it should that way) and from time to time you are uncertain whether you have left the park due to the change in the surroundings(in the middle of the park there are cars parked and staff buildings).
Soon the illusion of a fun and nice heritage park was gone as well as our coziness.

“Nice Tram and Stream Train ride but a little rundown”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Went to Ferrymead Heritage park after looking at the brochure plus 1st Sunday of the monday has the stream train ride. The place is a little rundown but price wise, personally feel not too expensive given almost unlimited train/tram ride. Distance is quite short for the ride but the park is not too big in the first place and my two little girls still enjoys it. This is something worth doing in my opinion but the ride cannot compare to the puffing billy in Melbourne.

It is like a museum with lots of historic items (antique vechicle, press printing, bus, train, old houses and etc) but overall the park is not in excellent state and looks very rundown. Perhaps due to the impact of earthquake so by more people visiting the place. They could have more funding to rebuilt the place.
