“A big hit with the kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

What a terrific museum! Amazing that it is free as the quality of exhibits and displays are top notch. Kids loved climbing into planes and looking at the detailed models. We paid to do the kids' "Air Force Adventure" tour and it was well worth the extra (still relatively small) cost. A highlight for my two was sitting in an old military plane and then having a chance to jump out (onto mats). I thought they might not want to (at 3 and 5, respectively), but they both did - twice! For me, it was fabulous to go behind the scenes and out to the hangars, past many of the old buildings - fascinating historical insight and highly recommended!

“Excellent museum.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

We had a bit of spare time before we had to leave and spent it here looking around the museum. Free admission is fantastic for how much stuff is here. A great display of stuff and on Wednesday's some of the Vets are here to give you info about the place and the run guided tours for ten dollars. We had to go but I think if you had the chance it would be very well worth it. A great display of NZ's history in the air.

“one of my favourite history jaunts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Christchurch old history has mostly gone, so this is a gem, and maintained by loving hands of enthusiasts and ex-servicemen and women. Huge area with lots of displays, and nice cafe. Need at least two hours to do it properly. Good parking.
