“The most charming, romantic and elegant bed & breakfast...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2011

My partner and I stayed one night at this charming B&B. We wish we could have enjoyed and few more nights at this charming place enjoying John and Kim's hospitality. We stayed in the Akaroa Room which, as other reviewers have mentioned, has an amazingly comfortable bed and beautiful furnishings. The bathroom is luxurious. Kim has created an amazing outdoor space while John prepares the most delicious food (including a five star eggs benedict). Their hospitality made us feel at home! Thank you John and Kim for a wonderful experience. We hope to be back very soon.

We were greeted at the Airport by one of our Hosts Kim and driven to the Manor whicih I must say is the most deliteful turn of the century villa with bueatiful gardens and privicy.
Our Room was called the Akaroa room and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (even slept through a small eathquake it was that comfortable).
Our other Host John prepared the most amazing pre dinner finger food which included Monk fish in a Parmasan crust and Akaroa Salmon on a dill mayonaise, followed by a superb dinner of NZ Lamb and garden fresh vegetables and some great Canterbury wines.Breakfast was just more fantastic food. The location is great just outside of the city (12 kms I was told) I will be back and soon thanks Guys

We recently enjoyed a one night stay (not long enough) with John and Kim in the Akorea Suite which had the most comfortable bed you could wish for. The gardens are superb to sit in and relax and their hospitalty with pre dinner nibbles and drinks at 6 and breakfast in the morning was of the highest quality that we experienced on our trip to NZ. We wish them the best in their new venture and look forward to returning in the future.

We had a lovely weekend stay at Stuart Manor. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The house is a classic, and so carefully updated that it's difficult to spot the new workmanship from the old. The rooms are large, luxuriously appointed, and spotlessly clean. At night you enjoy the kind of quiet you can only get in the country.

Kim and John were welcoming hosts, gracefully locating a thinner pillow for me (neck problems), and spoiling us for choice at breakfast. John used to be a professional chef, and he clearly hasn't lost his touch.

The manicured grounds look like the perfect place to sit and read a book (or facebook - they do have wireless networking), but sadly it was cold and raining during our stay.

Kim and John provide transport to/from the airport, but if we hadn't been visiting friends with transport, we'd have hired a car. Being outside town, there's not much within walking distance.

Altogether, a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We'll be back.

We stayed two nights in the Akaroa room and we cannot fault Stuart Manor at all. Clean, elegant rooms in a well maintained lodge but what really is the icing on the cake are the attentive and fantastic hosts John and Kim. Definiate recommendation

We had a fantastic stay at Stuart Manor. We understand that we were amongst the very first guests to stay in this newly opened B&B. We stayed in the Akaroa Room which was lovely, with a brand new ensuite bathroom. John and Kim are fantastic hosts. We will definitely be staying there again.
