Owner description: It's the ultimate Antarctic adventure! Experience the dramatic seasonal lighting in the four seasons of Antarctica show where it 'snows' every 6 minutes. Venture out on to 'the ice' from Scott Base to play in 'Antarctica' the snow & ice experience and survive an Antarctic storm! How long can you hold your hand in the icy Antarctic water? Hang out with Little Blue Penguins, buckle up for the famously exciting Hagglund ride, take an awesome simulated 4D Antarctic cruise, watch Happy Feet 4D, then watch a stunning movie on a MASSIVE screen! It's the closest you'll get to Antarctica without mounting your own expedition!

“Experience Real Cold”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

We loved the Antarctic Center. Allow plenty of time as all the information is very informative. The Hagglund ride is an adventure and the Little Blue Penguins delightful.
The geology, geography, history and politics of the area are all well explained and very, very fascinating.Experiencing the cold, and stormy conditions in the weather simulator is a total shock but well worth it.

“Very informative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

The Antarctic Centre is filled with interesting information in an interactive environment. The kids (2, 11 & 12) and adults of our family really enjoyed the Hagglund ride and penguin feeding. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

“Expensive but worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

This was expensive especially for a family but I can't say we didn't enjoy ourselves as we certainly did. The ride is really fun as is the storm simulator and the penguins are very cute. Penguin feeding time is the big highlight so make sure to make one of the slots.

At the end of the day you'll of had fun but maybe feel in hindsight you over payed for it!

“Well worth a half day's visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

The second time around proved a great reminder of the original many, many years ago. Not least the exhilaration when sitting in the snow tractor over a switching course that made us hold on for dear life with loads of shrieks and laughter ringing through the air.
The route around the whole site is well signposted and there are many places visitors can take time to read all the interesting points printed clearly. And without doubt the little penguins must create many a smile for everyone as they scamper in and out of the water.
Only one small point afterwards was the cafe area which was not up to the same excellent standard of the interior trip, but possibly due to a large crowd and not enough waiting staff. However it must come high for all ages for a visit.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. The Hagglund ride is definitely a highlight for many and such a unique thrill with just a little adrenalin thrown in! Glad you enjoyed it all so much this second time around too. Thanks for the feedback on the cafe, we do appreciate it and have made some positive design and menu changes in the last few months.

“Interesting and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We revisited the Antarctic Centre, having been there previously 2 years ago.
It was again lots of fun! From experiencing a blizzard, to watching a fun 4D movie, to having a Haglund ride, to watching penguin feeding
There was also lots of historical and scientific displays and information; and a cafe and sho
