“Studio spa unit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

We recently stayed a few nights here and would stay again. The staff were friendly, the rooms clean and well-maintained. Nice linen, towels etc and the bed was comfortable and felt reasonably new. Bit of a step into the spa bath to use the shower which might not be practical for the less agile but overall a recommended place to stay.

We are just checking out of the Amross Court Motor Lodge, and am so pleased had to write this review before we left. We can with our family of four for our first night in Christchurch. Bruce and Sue nicely accommodated us in their single apartment (adding two single beds to the living area). The also acted as the Easter Bunny for my daughter, who was quite sad to have seemed to miss easter morning while travelling. Bruce and Sue went shopping for eggs, and then hid them throughout the room! My daughter squealed with joy at finding eggs throughout the apartment! This is the kind of personal and thoughtful treatment you get staying at the Amross Court. So you should stay here! It's close to the airport, and in the city center. Speaking of which, this is an exciting time to visit Christchurch, with lot's of good energy and artistic happenings during the city's revival. We came across the pallet pavilion just down the street, a pop up coffee / food bar that has put on 100 live music shows since December and is open 24 hours with free wifi and board games. Christchurch is definitely worth a visit!

Stayed at the Amross Court Motor Lodge for 4 nights during a business trip. Bruce and Sue were so very welcoming and accommodating. The motel is in a great location close to restaurants and the CBD. The room was very spacious and well equippped however TV in the bedroom (not that it mattered !) Great value and definately will be staying there during future trips to Christchurch.

We stayed at Amross Court for the first couple of days of our holiday. It's in a great location, you can use the 29 bus to get to it from the airport and the stop is only a short walk away. It's also within good walking distance of the gardens and the centre, as well as being close to cafes and restaurants if you want to eat out.

The room was really good, had everything we needed and lots of space. And the owners were very friendly and welcoming and were happy to help with anything we needed.

Christchurch was our first stop in New Zealand. Sue and Bruce were very welcoming. We stayed in a one bedroom room, with a single bed set up in the living room. It was a bit tight, but very good value for money. There was still room in the living area for a 42" TV with Sky, and a well appointed kitchenette. We all got a good enough sleep to get over our jet-lag. Also, the motel is centrally located, near to Hagley Park, and the remains of the pre-quake CBD.

We had the King Spa room. The rooms were quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The place was really clean. The location was great and we were able to walk to the attractions (botanic garden, museum). It is close to a couple of some good cafes(Vics cafe and bakehouse) and restaurants (strawberry fare). The owners were super friendly and helpful and gave us some really good suggestions of what we could do around the area. I would definitely stay there again.

We did a 10 day tour around the south island, and our first stop was Christchurch, where we stayed at Lorenzo Motor Lodge. It was easy to find, we were allowed to check in early, it was clean, had tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave and fridge. Very clean and quiet at night.
We had a spa bath room which was very nice, perfectly clean and even had bubble bath to use!
We wern't in the room long as christchurch was just a stopover as not much there to see. Lovely welcome from the owners, a family run business.
