“Comfy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

Despite being on a main road, this place was very quiet with double glazing. Our room was perfectly sized, even a kitchen with everything you would need. The bathroom was great too. Easy to heat up on the chilly nights. Very clean and tidy. Only downside was the parking for the rear rooms was a bit tight to get a 4WD around when there was already another one parked there.

We stayed here specifically for how close Christchurch train station is to it.
It tool my wife and I about 8 minutes to walk from the lodge to the station.

Very easy cannot get lost.

Upon check in we were informed that our room is in the middle of a reno so we got upgraded for free to a apartment which was very spacious.

Bed was comfy and clean.
The shower had a lot of pressure which I love!
Overall, I highly recommend you stay here..
It's only a short walk as well to Westfields where you can shop til you drop then eat at the many restaurants outside.

We chose the motel because of its proximity to the railway station. The room was small but had everything we wanted, neat, clean and a very comfortable bed.The staff were also very helpful.Blenheim road has considerable traffic but there was no noise. Not the [place to stay if you want nearby restaurants or supermarkets. No complaints whatsoever.

We chose this Lodge for its proximity from the Railway Station for Tranz Alpine Train.just a 10 minute walk.!
Found rooms clean & neat with all the facilities.Equipement including heater were quite new. TV with one of the maximum international channels. Got free WIFI for an hour even though it was not originally promised .
But the most amazing part was the warm & friendly staff @ the check in counter .
Have to make special mention of Ms . Anna , she is such a wonderful person who goes out of her way to service & help the guests. My family was really touched by her attitude.

We stayed here for one night. The room was clean and inexpensive. The room was small, but that was exactly what we booked. We walked to Hagley Park and the city center, which took about an hour. We walked to the Tranzalpine train station the following morning, which took about 10 minutes. We chose this hotel because the hotel was near the train station.

Other than its close proximity to the Christchurch Train Station, there was nothing particular satisfactory about this hotel. In most respects, the hotel was lacking for a number of reasons including limited and tight parking; no on-site staff presence except at check in; sliding glass doors were entrance to room, which reduced privacy and security; bathroom sink spouted like a geyser; TV remote battery was low; sheets on bed were old and did not seem clean; and WiFi was an additional charge. In addition, the closest restaurants or stores were a 10-minute walk away and the Christchurch city center was a 30-minute walk away. A better choice would be stay at one of the many motels on nearby Riccarton Avenue, which also included many eating choices and stores.

The Tower Junction Lodge is totally neat and clean. We had a kitchenette and it was well stocked. The owner was nice also. We stayed here two nights because we arrived by train from Picton and were taking the TranzAlpine to Greymouth and return. The motel is actually in Addington, about 3km west of the city center. It is about a ten minute walk from the Railway station. There is a very good restaurant/pub called Speights Ale House about midway between the motel and the rail station. Near the pub is also Anna's Cafe where we had breakfast. There is a large Chinese restaurant about five minutes walk west on Blenheim Road. Between the motel and the city center there is a huge park and botanic garden. If your are without a car and don't like to walk or can't this may not be the best location. It is on a main bus route but we didn't use it and I don't know how good it is.
