Having an museum of flight near to where I live it was borderline whether I visited this attraction or carried on with more excellent wineries. However, the ever accurate Lonely Planet put it on a par with the vineyards - and as ever they are absolutely correct. This is a world-class experienced: the product of passion, philanthropy and presentation. The imaginative settings make you feel as if you have been transported back a century; the stirring stories revisit military heroism by pioneering warriors in the air; and the artefacts are not one-sided but represent all nations in the WW1 conflict. Just a pity my visit did not coincide with one of their air shows where many of the exhibits take to the sky. Do take the combined ticket and visit the adjoining car museum.
