“Relaxing stay in heart of wine country”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

My wife and I stayed here roughly in the middle of our 3 week honeymoon, and I would put it tied for first among the many high-end accommodations we enjoyed. We had Room 13 at the very end facing the vineyards, which gave us seclusion and great views. The kitchen area and living space are large and well-equipped, and with laundry, DVDs, and wifi you could stay here for some time - we made full use of these features to recharge on our journey. I would highly recommend renting bikes from the front desk to tour the surrounding wineries; the hotel is very well located for this. The only cons I would put were that I didn't find the service as warm/involved as some others (but that is fine with me!) and the restaurant was only so-so, but convenient.

Room Tip: Room 13 is probably the most secluded of the rooms, as others have noted. I would definitely choose...

This was our first stop in New Zealand on our two week long honeymoon, and we could not have been happier with our choice. We stayed in one of the villas facing the vineyards (which certainly isn't hard considering the entire place is surrounded by vineyards). It was secluded and off alone. It made us feel like we were the only ones there. The bathroom was huge and had a great patio and sitting room. It was set in the middle of the vineyards just outside of Blenheim. It was the perfect location for those wishing to wine taste. We loved it!

We traveled throughout the south island for 19 days and stayed mainly in 5 star accommodation alot of which were really highly priced. This was the best of the lot and not very expensive either. We had two apartments next to one another. The apartments are so spacious and very child friendly. The best showers and water pressure of any accommodation I have ever stayed in. We loved that it was so quiet and felt like the middle of nowhere yet close enough to town for the local pizza to deliver which helped after a long day of driving. Set right amongst all the wineries it is the perfect place to base yourself from. Oh another thing that was great were the heavy curtains. Anybody travelling with children appreciates them especially when it doesn't get dark until really late in summer!

Room Tip: There are 4 units located furthest away (i think units 13-16?). These are the prime spot because the...

Very high standard accommodation in a beautiful vineyard setting. The rooms are actually apartment suites with good size living accommodation and large bathrooms. Food in the restaurant was generally good, although my wife was a little disappointed with her pork belly. It was a relief to find somewhere with free wireless broadband.

We arrived here having spent 7 nights in a motor home. We were really pleasantly surprised. The rooms were excellent and very large and the hotel was in a perfect location right in the middle of the vineyards. The rooms were very well equipped so eating in would not be a problem. We would definitely return here and recommend to others.

Stayed in September/October time so off season. Hotel was quiet. Rooms are a good size, clean and well equipped. Massive bathroom, yet no bath, merely a shower. (You'd understand if the space was challenged but for such a large room it seemed a bit crazy really, Maybe no one likes a bath in Marlborough.). Good pleasant stay that was spoilt a little by such a poor wi-fi signal, that even though I was in the nearest block to reception I had to frequently move myself and sit either outside of reception or on the sofa beside it. Not really easy to work, which I unfortunately needed to. Probably would look to stay elsewhere if the wi-fi issue wasn't sorted out, but I'm sure it would be by now.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms furthest from reception if you want to be truly amongst the vines.

Yes, it's expensive, but it was our New Years' gift to ourselves and we
thought it was worth it. The rooms are magnificent -- beautifully appointed
and exceptionally clean. So safe -- we enjoyed the private patio and the
Tui birds that sang for us. I can't imagine sleeping with the windows and
patio doors wide open anywhere else, but this felt as safe as can be. A
wonderful location for the wineries -- biking distance to many excellent
ones (though we drove). If you're used to finding a French Press coffee
pot, you find that and also quite beautiful crockery for self-catering. But
the nearby restaurants are worth a taste -- Hertzog's Bistro for dinner is
just across the road and Wither Hills is nearby. Both were excellent. (By
the way, Herzog will provide wine tastings outside of their posted hours,
if you want to squeeze one more in). Laundry facilities were very
convenient and inexpensive --they provide environmentally-friendly
detergent. One small point: the receptionist was not overly helpful
(telling us simply that things were "on the map" was not as helpful as we
had come to expect, but it is true, of course), but that is hardly a major
problem. Dinner there was one of our nicest on our trip.
