“Fantastic value with great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

For my dad's birthday, we decided on the Sojourn. It was the final Wellington on a plate weekend and the menu with scallops/beef Wellington and dessert sounded great. Loved the setting with fantastic people watching on a Saturday night. The food was fabulous, and both front of house staff were amazing. George, plus a waitress (not sure of her name) were so pleasant and accommodating and really made our evening. 3 courses plus a glass of wine for $35 was amazing value for money. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much for making my dad's 82nd birthday such a lovely one.

Hello linda255118

Thanks for your great review – we got so many positive comments regarding our Wellington on a Plate menu that we have incorporated some of the dishes into our new menu.

I’m very pleased that we were able to assist in making your Dad’s birthday a special occasion.

Kind regards

“Great food and awesome customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

A friend and I went to the Sojourn Cafe for lunch one Friday and I was pleasantly surprised to find this small, intimate but efficient cafe almost right in the heart of the James Cook hotel lobby. Under normal circumstances I may very well have walked straight past as it could almost appear slightly aloof and daunting, but the staff were friendly, very efficient and the chef extremely accommodating. I was yearning for a really hot curry so he happily adjusted his chicken curry of the day by adding an extra dollop of hotness to mine. It was punchy, tasty and full of freshness. My friend ordered a Chicken Burrito which also received an extra helping of chilli. He appeared very happy when he realized that his amounts of extra chilli were spot-on, smiling shyly at us through the kitchen hatch. Overall our meals were great and we look forward to going back. It is not the cheapest place to eat in the city, but well worth the food and atmosphere.

“What fantastic food and great staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

We took my mother and stepdad out to her birthday dinner on April 10th. I cant remember the staff's names but they were fantastic and need to be congratulated on being so attentive to us. They actually looked happy to be there. The food was a credit to the chef, and we were surprised by the birthday platter presented to my mum.It was lovely and made the night memorable. Thanks so much. We will definately be returning!!

“Good coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

I had coffee everyday at the Soujurn. After 4pm, there's a great live music atmosphere, with the piano playing a few Bossa Nova tunes.
