After walking all over Wellingtons inner city looking for a restaurant to have dinner, finding the Arizona Bar & Grill was a welcome site. Then, after being ignored for some time at reception, a young girl pointed at a table and said "you can have that one if you like" We sat ourselves down and looked at the menu then we waited and waited and waited. We were about to leave when a waiter noticed us and took our order. We ordered the Fajita Platter and asked could we up size so as the 2 of us could share. When the dish arrived, we thought they were joking. It looked and tasted of nothing. Onions and peppers along with dry, over cooked beef & chicken swimming in oil on a small sizzle plate. Tasteless guacamole, tomato salsa, sour cream and some grated mild cheese in small ramekins, barely enough for one person. The only positive was the Fajita wraps were nice and fresh. Arizona Bar & Grill is trying to be a Mexican style restaurant but they have a long way to go. Get your chef to go buy Mexican cookbook from Whitcoulls, I'm sure thing will improve once the basics flavors of Mexican food are understood. Arizona Bar & Grill is a nice fresh looking restaurant in a great location but sadly, the food and service let it down.
