“Great centrality to the CBD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Very central to the CBD and the Museum / conference centre- Te Papa. Apartment was clean enough, although a faint odour so I had to air with the windows open. Bed comfy. No noise as such from the street (I was on 8th floor and opposite an apartment block)- but extreme noise from the wind howling all night. I even took audio of this as sure no one at home would believe how noisy it was!!! Lights from the apartment block filtered around the otherwise heavy drape so the room was semi illuminated all night which I did find annoying. Staff at desk helpful and friendly- thank you to them. Shower leaked a bit onto the floor at times and there was no servicing of the room - something I did not realise so I had to keep asking for clean towels and bins to be emptied and extra loo roll as I stayed 6 nights while in town for work. Also no instructions in room on how to operate convection microwave, tv, music system or clock radio (which might sound simple but I could not get alarm to work!!). When I asked staff they just said it must have been taken by another guest and did not help further!! It would also have been helpful to have had at least 1 small microwave dish or jug to use rather than the super large glass bowl supplied. I would recommend this to people for closeness to everything- shopping, movies, cable car, water front, planetarium etc. Great location.

Room Tip: Not opposite apartment buildings that have all night lights on!!!

I've stayed here numerous times during the year, and have found it to be clean, comfortable and reliable. Rooms close to the lifts can be noisy; likewise lower stories. Reception staff range from snotty to superb - one in particular seems to delight in being unhelpful without actually crossing the line into rudeness. Amazingly, all the rooms have washer/dryers.

For the price you pay, this little gem is amazing value. The apartments are comfy and spacious, and you are a stone's throw away from the eating and bar quarters of the city. The front desk leaves a little to be desired, but I guess that's the only downside. Breakfast in your apartment is great. Try the cafe about 75m to the left of the apartments, amazing breakfast.

Great location, clean and tidy room with kitchenette and clothes washing machine if needed. friendly reception staff. On same street as all types of shopping and restaurants. bag storage room for late check outs. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: larger rooms seem to be at back of building. Ours was 307.

The website booking service works well and is cheaper than booking over the phone. Staff are very helpful if you need assistance too. Willis St can be noisy as its a main route thru the city. Its great walking distance to Cuba St and Te Papa
waterfront area

While the name might appear a little strange (apartment hotel?), it was a very enjoyable stay. I managed to book my rooms here before the Australian dollar took a tumble, so I managed to get very good value for my room.

The location of the hotel was excellent, with a supermarket less than a minute's walk down Willis St, as well as being close to Cuba St and the waterfront. The only negative factor for its location was that Willis St seems to be a popular area for hoons on Friday and Saturday, so make sure you request a room on the high levels to minimise the noise.

The apartment was quite spacious and well-appointed, with the kitchen being well stocked with necessary crockery and utensils. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean.

One useful service was the after hours service. 24 hours a day, there is a duty operator reachable on the phone after the reception is closed, which was invaluable after the toaster tripped the safety switch and killed the electricity in my apartment at 10pm on a Sunday night.

In summary, very good value for money and a great location. Street noise was not that big an issue because I was on a higher floor and the bed was set back from the street-facing windows.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor

I had a week here on business recently. Its very handy to the centre of town. The room I got was spacious ckean and quiet. I arrived after hours and picked up my key from the secure box with no hassles. Overall a good place to stay.
