“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

After a great weekend we were looking forward to a lovely final night in town before flying home. The smell in the bathroom was damp and moldy, to the point of when I wanted to do my hair I had to leave the door open for air. Then there was the noisy aircon unit that made a noise internally when the winds blow all night keeping me awake. It’s safe to say I will not be staying there again although I do have to wonder if it had something to do with the price that I paid as I purchased it through wotif at a special rate.

Rooms are great and we had a view of the harbour one side and Parliament on the other. Dinner in the restaurant is a must. A wonderful two night stay.

Came here for a weekend away with my Husband, booking Rydges for its low rates at the weekend. We treated ourselves to a room on the harbour side, at night the city really lights up to see right across the harbour to Oriental Bay...just fabulous. The interactions we had with staff were great, always keen to help with recommending activities to do, plus they are all walking distance from the hotel. Made the most of the heated indoor pool too, added bonus when you are away on holiday.

Room Tip: Pay upgrade for the views of the harbour SO worth it

I stayed with my girlfriend at the Rydges for the weekend, and found the stay to be the best i have ever experienced. Upon arrival the staff were very friendly, curtious and professional. We stayed in one of the self contained units on one of the top floors. The room was outstanding, it had amazing views of the city, a spacious lounge with comfortable couches, a great kitchen, and large bathroom with seperate shower and bath - it was like living in an apartment.
I found the room service to be exceptional, standard waiting time, but the quality of the food was a lot better than other hotels i have experienced. Buffet breakfast the next morning was very good, and having great expresso coffee made my morning!
Thanks heaps to the team at Rydges Wellington, a great stay, i will definitely reccommend to anyone visting Wellington, it is well worth it!

Room Tip: I would reccommend one of the apartment style rooms on the top floors, we had city side, but i would...

Rydges Wellington assisted me in delivering an outstanding conference. The hotel accommodation was excellent - comfortable with spacious rooms and good bathrooms. Conference facilities and technical services were outstanding - very impressive! The catering through the conference was fresh and innovative. Staff were wonderful - every person I came into contact with was caring, friendly and gave excellent attention to detail. A first class experience and I highly recommend as a fabulous conference hotel.

Stayed here for the weekend and was really pleased with our choice. The hotel is modern and the staff were very friendly helpful and it's a great central location near the waterfront and shops (near Parliament). The lifts are really quick up to the top floors which is always good. The room was very nice with a little balcony where you could access the free Wellington city wifi as the hotel charges. The bathroom was quite large and modern, very clean and bed was really comfortable. The room had a little kitchenette which was a surprise. The indoor pool and spa pool was also a nice space. Breakfast was expensive though, $29 for the cooked buffet and $24 for the continental so we did not eat there.
