“A good find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2011

When booking "At Home" I thought it would be a good place to say as Leanne was so helpful. I was proved right. At Home although a little hard to find was great. The room was spacious, had a balcony, but sadly no view. However the pluses were that the bed was supremely comfortable, we had a small kitchen and even a washing machine/dryer which are so useful when travelling. Wi-fi was also available. We were right near the wonderful Te Papa Museum and the waterfront and nothing was too far away. There is a supermarket about ten minutes walk away and also a good little bistro "Two Souls". Leanne was extremely helpful, the place was spotless and we would definately recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask Leanne!

We had a great 4 nights staying here - the room was much bigger than expected and was decorated in a modern and contemporary style. It was light and airy and surprisingly quiet given that Wakefield Street is pretty busy. Having the kitchen and laundry facilities within the room meant we had more flexibility than you would have in a standard hotel and the bathroom was clean and generously sized. The huge bed was exceptionally comfortable and the black-out curtains led to a good nights sleep every night, even with jetlag!
The owners were friendly and helpful, even lending us a plug adaptor as we'd inadvertently forgotten ours and the free wifi was much appreciated - all in all we had very enjoyable stay and will be recommending At Home Wellington to our friends and look forward to staying there again in the future.

At Home Wellington could not be located in a better spot. You are literally within walking distance of the Te Papa museum, beautiful waterfront, and all of the fancy restaurants.

Our room was very modern, clean, and cozy. The washer and dryer was very handy for our two night stay as it was the midpoint of our trip. We got to freshen up our clothes for the second half of the trip.

Leann greeted us and was very helpful in getting set up in the city. She was gave us a wonderful box of lovely chocolates. Given the cost of the other places we stayed in New Zealand and the location, service, and the fact that we were in a major city, this was an excellent value.

This is a gem of a hotel. Very close to the Te Papa museum. Very contemporary and upscale. Wonderful to have en suite laundry facilities.

Really enjoyed my time at the hotel/apartment and wish I could've spent more time in Wellington. The hotel itself is small and takes up the top floor of the apartment building, which I liked. They seem to really appreciate your business and are not like a big chain hotel. The service was great with excellent security. As it is a small hotel, they have a small sign out front and I walked by it twice (however, a truck was parked in front of it one time). The room was big with stylish décor and opens to a walk out balcony overlooking the Te Papa museum. You are in the middle of downtown but 4 floors up (so not much noise) which are great if you don't have a car. I wish it was a little less expensive but it's still a really good value for pretty deluxe accommodations. I would stay there again and recommend it even if it is a bit of a splurge.

At Home Wellington is self-contained on the 4th floor of an office building only one block from the Te Papa Museum in the centre of the city. The self-catering apartments are stylish, spacious and very well-appointed, and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

The view from our balcony overlooked a car park, but the room was quiet. (By being one of the first three guests to check in, we had free car parking.) A great virtue of At Home is that being in the city centre, most of the attractions of Wellington are within walking distance.

We stayed in other accommodations that were beautiful but not terribly functional and some that were functional but not very attractive. Our unit at At Home was the perfect combination -- very attractive plus lots of storage space, electrical outlets where they were needed, free wi-fi, nearby parking. It was great. We found the combo washer-dryer to be a little challenging, but we should have asked for help and didn't ,so that's our fault. The location is wonderful. Loved our balcony. Highly recommend At Home.
