We booked a two-bedroom apartment and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space afforded us. The location with access to Lambton Quay and the Terrance was good although since the living room and directly connected bedroom both were very close to the Lambton Quay side there was a noticeably amount of outside noise coming in. No in-room washing or drying was frustrating as these are a standard for most serviced apartments (and in addition one of the two nearby communal washing machines was broken).

We stayed here for two nights. The rooms are really nice, very modern with kitchen facilities, and good quality firnishings. The fist night we were put in a room on a lower floor backing onto The Terrace - we barely slpet due to the noise from the street and the cars below. We then asked to be moved and were given a very large apartment on the 9th (top) floor which was FANTASTIC! the manager was very obliging and even moved our bags in for us while we were away.
The location is okay, right near the main shopping areas, but about a 10-15 minute walk from the nightlife/resturants. -a good thing for a good nights sleep.
Complimentary toast and cereal in room for the first night was a nice touch also.
we would definately stay here again, but request a higher floor room.

This place is a gem - huge rooms for not much money - at least that was the case when I got a room for $100/night off wotif. My room was nicely decorated, really well-provisioned, with microwave, dishwasher , hob and all the necessary cooking bits and pieces, a huge bathroom, separate bathroom and a nice comfy lounge area. Really nicely located, too! The hotel's website pics are an accurate representation of the reality. Only 2 niggles, but one of them rather major. 1) carpets rather dirty in the lobby areas, and 2) those thin window blinds that other reviewers have mentioned. The window of my bedroom opened onto a light well, as did the neighbouring room's bathroom and living area windows. Until 1am the light from their windows bounced off the walls in the lightwell and straight into my room through the useless blind. I had to drag the mattress off the bed and into the living room to semi-escape the ethereal, sleep-preventing florescent glow flooding in and to get some kip. Fortunately there was no-one in the next-door room the next 2 nights, so I didn't have to use the black-out fabric I got for $10 from a dress-fabric shop the next day, and which I'd planned on pinning over the blind. Please owners, fix this really annoying problem by replacing the blinds with dark ones - oh, and clean the carpets - and then I'd give you a 5/5 rating, no quibbles. I would stay again - armed with my blackout cloth.

Have stayed in most upper mid range Wellington hotels. This is one of the better ones. (my 2nd choice) The rooms are probably the roomyist in Wellington. They are well equiped with modern appliances and flat screene TV. Big comfortable beds. It can be a bit noisy and light on the Terrace side, but only the newest Wellington hotels are any better. It is particuarly well located, being a gentle walk to cafes/bars/theatres/railway and the cake tin Stadium. The staff are quite friendly and helpful even if some are not conversational. Personally I preferr "efficient" anyway. This is an excellent place to stay.
