“Days Bay for a Picnic.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Williams Park in Days Bay is a great place for a picnic, or just for a stroll. It has a shop & a restaurant, & a pizza parlour with a wood-fired oven, so everything from ice-creams to a full meal. Well catered. Lovely lawns for children to run around, & a large duckpond. Great for the little children who want to feed the ducks. Just across the road is the beach, & the wharf where the ferry from Wellington docks. The wharf is a favourite place for teenagers jumping into the water, though no jumping is allowed on the north side of the wharf where the ferry comes in.

“Williams Park is very popular for native bush & picnics”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2011

The location of the Williams Park Reserve is incorrect & I cannot find a place to repair it. There is no phone number also suggesting something odd.
Williams Park is located between 611 and 613 Eastern Bays Marine Drive, a very long stretch with a drive in entrance about half way along.
I live here so my opinion is a little coloured :-) Williams Park takes up most of Days Bay flat area and has large grassed areas for a picnic and a very valuable and natural walking area in the hill behind. Great views from the top or from a lookout a little way up the hill. Glow-worms can be found after dusk a little way up the track from the duck-pond. This is also the entrance to the East Harbour Regional park with fantastic walks past 200+ year-old trees on the ridge a difficult 100m up the hill. Days Bay beach, one of Wellington's top beaches is across the road.
