“Well maintained golf course centrally in Wellington”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

This golf course is not for beginners - the fairways are very close to each other so at least you need to have good direction when you hit the ball. This is confirmed by the usual crowd playing here and you don't want to make the group behind you wait. In saying that, its a good golf course and you will have a good time playing it. Very exposed to wind and its easy to end up in the rough or out of bounds. Can be a challenging course but can also be very rewarding. So be smart! Reasonably pricey but it is what it is. Expect to be paired with others if you don't have a foursome in your booking. I quite like playing here, but there are better options if you are willing to spend another 30 minutes in your car to get there. Okay 19th hole - have everything you would want.

“Nice course and convenient to the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

An excellent, well maintained course and definitely worth playing 18 holes at Miramar Golf Club but like the other reviewers have said, it can be very, very difficult on a windy day. In my opinion this just add's to it's charm. It only takes about 10 minutes from the CBD to get here, making it super convenient. Keep an eye out on the discount websites, as it appears every now and again saving you $$$'s.

“Great links well located but watch out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

I like this course. On a still day it is reasonably challenging, on a windy day it can be a killer. And Wellington has plenty of windy days. Because of the wind the greens are cut to be a bit slow - otherwise they would be unplayable.

My warning is not about the wind, however. This must be one of the most dangerous golf courses in the world. I have never been hit myself but several people who I have been playing with have been hit by golf balls, sometimes these have been travelling at great speed from a nearby tee. So be vigilant!

“Can you play in the wind?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

This is a nice course located very near the Wellington Airport. It has very few trees and is exposed to the strong winds. This allows the character of the course to change dramatically depending on which way the wind is blowing. It is a lot of fun! It is just not as challenging as some of the other courses in the area.

“Windy but nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

Its not a premium course, but its well run and maintained and very popular. I personally prefer to rent a cart. No real killer holes.
