We stayed in a two bed suite at the Bolton for 3 nights and I thought it was brilliant. It had all teh features of a 4/5 star hotel but with all the home comforts. 1 king 1 twin, a living/dining/kitchen area and 2 bathrooms. More than enough space for our family of 5 (we topped and tailed two of the kids - could do with an option for a roll away bed) and a nice location near the parliament. We didn't really use any of the facilities and never ate there as the city is on your doorstep. Kitchen has full facilities including washing machine. Concierge parking is $20 a day.
I wish UK cities had a hotel this good with 2 bed suites at this price!

the bolton hotel was hands down the best hotel we stayed at in our new zealand trip. the room was so beautiful. it was large and roomy plus they had a dvd player. it was bad that the player wasn't plugged in and i spent a good 15 minutes trying to get it to work with the remote but other than that the room was fantastic! when we came back from the te papa, we found two chocolate bunnies with a small easter egg each on the coffee table! they have free internet at the lobby and even the printing is for free. their breakfast buffet wasn't amazing but was certainly good. unfortunately we only stayed there for a night but we would go back in a heartbeat if we ever head to wellington in the future.

I hate the little catchwords that come around, but I really was reminded of the current catchword 'meh' when staying at this Hotel.
It was well furnished, but dull and dreary. They desperately need to do something to make this the kind of place to stay. Perhaps they need to hire better managers who can inspire and motivate their staff. They just seem lacking in all respects. Perhaps better training, perhaps better pay, perhaps more appreciation or feedback.

We only stayed 1 night before catching our ferry and this boutique style hotel ticked all the boxes. The staff were very friendly,gave us an upgrade and the room service was very good.
