“Best muesli ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Great new eatery. Clean, modern and efficient. Muesli ($9 with yoghurt and stewed fruit) is the best I've experienced, really really good. Service was ok, a little indifferent and I was ignored for a while once seated (they weren't busy at 0730). Breads and other menu items look delicious and I will return and recommend to others.

“Great service and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Really nice, clean and modern. Does the basics extraordinarily well. Great place for bruch, nice coffee. Nice to see some daylight in a cafe. Others are getting a bit too hip and dingy.

“Casual with class”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

The team that built iconic L'Affare in Wellington return with a chic, cool, noisy bistro. Deceptively simple food, well worth a visit

“Serious competition to the Wellington market!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

I have had two visits to Prefab in the past few weeks. Both at a similar time---early afternoon
On both occasions we were greeted at the door - seated - and coffee orders taken before waitress left. Coffee is great and really reasonably priced at $3.50 a cup. Service has been slick and efficient. Food tried all delicious and like the coffee priced to please! Have tried the salad plate, pasta, soup, and fish main. All great with the salad being the stand out. So much more than a green leaf with a token tomato---was varied and bursting with fresh, interesting flavours!!! Almost enough to turn a confirmed carnivore vegetarian!
The interior is light and clean--music not deafening- and the loos----a highlight! Clean, bright with fresh flowers a nice extra touch. This ' newby' on the scene has set the bar high . Lets hope it maintains its vigour and excellence!

“My new favourite place for Saturday brucnh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

After two visits to Prefab for Saturday brunch, I have become a big fan. The coffee is excellent, as you'd expect, and very reasonably priced. The food is great and the service friendly and efficient. My first visit I had a panini, which was very good, and on my second visit I had the Berlin Brekkie, which I would recomend especially if you're hungry. My friend tells me that it is pretty much what he remembers breakfasts being like when he stayed in Germany: fresh bread, cold meats, pickles, cheese, boiled egg and jam. The bread is made on the premises (you can see the ovens in the kitchen) so is very fresh and everything else was equally good.

The interior is surprisingly light and bright and there is a bustling atmosphere, so great if you have children or are with a group. Don't be put off by the queues, the wait is fairly short and the food and coffee are worth waiting for. Once you have a seat, orders are taken quickly and the food arrives smartly.
