“Just WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

The World of Wearable Art Museum in Nelson New Zealand is an absolute must on any South Island tourist route. Just incredible what fashion designers have done with all sorts of materials to create clothes. The designers compete each year and WOW showcases the winners. There is an auditorium showing a video of the latest design competition, and then you see up close and personal these designs. The other half of WOW is quite different - it has about 40 vintage cars (mainly American), but absolutely fantastic display. You just couldn't believe finding a place like this.

“Amazing. Fabulous.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Part of the main museum; this is a wonderful exhibition of amazing "clothes"! - Well, at least things worn by people but art. Interesting with some beautiful items exhibited. Only criticism is that the films were shown in a corridor and were rather difficult to watch with the traffic down the corridor. Free!

“Not up to usual standard”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Firstly there was the mess-up with the online booking. Then they said that if we emailed them they would phone us - they didn't. Then there was no announcement about when the website was reopening, and as a result we got really lousy seats. There was no indication that the packaged dinners were not being provided this year. the show wasn't as spectacular as previous years and, where we were sitting, at least three of the models showing the outfits came nowhere near where we were sitting.

“Def worth taking the time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Visited exhibit in Te Papa, very interesting, informative and designed to suit all attention spans. Great examples on display and showed progression of WOW from its beginnings to now. I left wishing there was more - always an indicator, but is a comprehensive exhibit to view.
