“Great for a day trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Days Bay is easy to get to by bus or by boat, each of which provide regular services - we will often go to Days Bay and then walk around the coast road to Eastbourne and then either return to the city by bus or walk back to Days Bay and catch the ferry from there. Both the bus and the boat have interesting routes and your travel is not dependent on the weather.

“Afternoon Sun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

The best place in Welly to get the best of the afternoon and evening sun. Some great eateries including 'Chocolate Days' for a very tasty lunch.

“Unexpected delights in Wellington”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

There are several ferries a day to Days Bay from Queens Wharf, and some stop at the beautiful Matui/Somes Island. Days Bay itself is a very quiet seaside place, not much there in truth, but a short walk along the road to the right takes you into Eastbourne where there are cafes and shops. What is not talked about much in any of the guide books are the bush walks. The entrances to these are hidden away up alleys and side streets and like me you would probably just stumble on one. The paths themselves are perfectly maintained and there are many steps to climb, but once at the top the views are simply stunning; it is then possible to pick up the Mackenzie Trail to walk right over the top and back down the other side before getting the bus (no.83) back into the city. Brilliant day out..

“Good beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Days Bay has a safe beach, nice sand and a park over the road. There is a nice restaurant over the road to complete your day. In summer can get overcrowded.

“A must see in Wellington”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

They say you can't beat Wellington on a good day, and one of those places to admire the good day has to be Days Bay. Several nice cafes on the waterfront. Easy to get there by car, or on the ferry from Wellington CBD
