“Disgusting Disgusting Disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2011

Horrific Experience. Travelled to Wellington on a tour for the Rugby World Cup and was unfortunate enough to be put into this hotel along with some others from the tour group taking up 10 other rooms in total for 4 nights. Upon pulling up to the hotel we all assumed it was a joke, the street however proved to be a cleaner and nicer picture than what awaited us inside the rooms in the hotel itself. Rooms had a stench of Indian food, the noise from the pub below was continuous, rooms were dirty, small, and no other word for it - disgusting. One couple on the tour left that night (without notifying the hotel) and sought accomodation elsewhere as they could not bare to spend a night in such filthy accomodation, they went back the next day to collect the rest of their baggage from the hotel room and walked in on two people who had been resold their room. I have never stayed in a hotel of such bad standard, an award of 1 star would be too much. Others from the group were stationed in Quest on Wellington which I would highly recommend this hotel/apartment suites as an alternative.

Room Tip: Do not choose to stay here, it's vile. Stay in Quest on Wellington

Worst Accomodation in Wellington. Worst Quest Apartment Complex in the Group

Where do I start with how bad this accomodation is... The room was old and dirty, no blankets on the beds, 1 small heater to heat the room, large crack in the window letting cold air in. To top it off the building smelt of Curry.

End result 3 hours sleep & reception couldn't care less that the room was 3rd world... Personally it is a disgrace that this complex bears the "Quest" Brand name

I stayed at another serviced apartment up the road, it was cheaper and infinitely better. Avoid this complex like the plague

We rented two studio apartments for our family of 5 the weekend of an All Blacks rugby test in Wellington. Quest was the only place left that could fit us in. The apartments are old and a little run down but tidy and clean. They come with a kitchenette - but there is very limited space to sit down and eat. Paid internet is available. The corridor is a little claustrophobic. The location is little isolated if you don't know Wellington really well. Paid parking is available - but the spaces are tight and the one-way roads mean that you have to approach the entrance just the right way to get into the garage. The service was great - the staff ensured that we had apartments two doors from each other and were very friendly. You get access to Les Mills fitness on Taranaki St, about 5 minutes walk away. There is a cafe in the foyer that we grabbed a coffee at that looks to have a really nice menu.

We'd heard that Quest hotels were good, so we booked here for two nights. The hotel is reasonably handy to town, a bit of a hike to Courtney Place, but close enough to Cuba Street. The foyer was okay, the staff member pleasant and helpful. Our studio room was comfortable, with a good bed and extra chairs and a desk. The decor was very tired and there was a pillar in the middle of the room which meant that you couldn't watch TV from the chair at the desk. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were basic but reasonably clean.

During the night the wind came up and the metal-framed single glazed windows rattled all night, with the wind whistling through the gaps. Also the room was opposite the lift and every time other residents came in or out we could hear them as if they were in the room with us, ie absolutely no soundproofing round the door.

Overall, a budget hotel, okay if you can get a cheaply priced room and don't mind a bit of noise. We won't stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the lifts

what a loser operation this hotel is.

all other details are useless if you are not comfortable in your room after paying your money.

This motel has an underground garage which is a big plus as it is bang in the middle of the city. It's not the smartest hotel, but clean and functional. It reminded me of typical student quarters, but it had everything we needed for a couple of nights. A lick of paint here and there would have made a big difference.

The hotel is in a good location for wandering down Willis st to the waterfront, or across to Cuba Mall. The staff were very helpful (late check-in, recommending bars and resturants) and the cafe was good and inexpensive.

Our room was small and very simple, but clean. The hallways smell a bit funny and the furnishings were a bit dated. the rooms vary greatly in size, as our 3rd floor double was very small and a friend on the 1st floor had much more space.

We had some friends staying at the Quest Wellington which seemed much nicer.
