Owner description: Free, one-hour guided tours of Parliament operate every day on the hour. Take a tour with one of our trained guides to visit key parts of Parliament's buildings and learn about our parliamentary processes, and have an insight in to New Zealand's history and culture. Tours operate seven days a week with the first tour at 10am, last tour 4pm. We recommend you arrive least 15 minutes before the tour departs as tour group sizes are limited and so you have time to check in your belongings. Everyone must leave their bags, coats, phones, cameras and other electronic devices in secure storage at the Visitor Centre in the Beehive. Individuals do not need to book. Groups of 10 or more are required to book their tour in advance. Specialist tours are avaiable on request but must be booked in advance.

“Interesting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

A good insight into the functioning and history of the governance system of NZ, and also into the seismic engineering of the buildings.

“learn a little and see some great buildings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

We took a free tour of the building and saw the efforts to earthquake proof the main building, but the library and other public areas. Learned a little about the political structure of New Zealand as well. Worth doing!

“Well worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

The buildings feel vibrant inside. There was no charge for the tour which I found thoroughly fascinating and very interesting. I even enjoyed the time spent in the chamber listening to the members debate. I would recommend you visit even if you don't think you have a big interest in politics.

“Modern vibrant home of government”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Normally don't enjoy government type cities but Wellington is fascinating - it seems to have changed over the years. The city itself has a café society and the parliament buildings had a very modern and vibrant fell to them - totally unexpected.
