“Very interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

This Museum has very friendly and helpful staffs and plus it is FREE. You also have the option to give donation which is great.
So many interesting things to see and very good for new knowledge. The more you see the more you will learn.

Took my family there and they love it. It was awesome. Better to go if your not in rush so you can read and look at everything at a slow pace.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

This is one of the best in Wellington second only to Te Papa. Great exhibitions which takes you through the history of Wellington and the surrounding areas. Very moving archive footage of the terrible ferry disaster. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit - reasonable price and helpful staff.

“skip the papa - do this one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Just down the road from Te Papa and although more dedicated to the sea (hence the name), way better for visitor interaction.
a must do

“Interesting Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

We initially were not going to go to this museum but overcast weather sent us there. This was very interesting particulary the film about the Inter Island Ferry tragedy in 1968. There is plenty to see over three floors of the museum and you can write a note to the city and attach it to a wall inside the museum.
