Second time I have stayed. Both times we have been really happy with the room (incl cleanliness) but not the service. Each time there has been an issue with the booking and them charging the wrong amount. Also while the food in the restaurant was good the staff were inattentive and we kept having to flag them down.

This Hotel was recommended by a friend of a friend. We had heard about the motorbikes that were on display in the hotel lobby so since we were arriving on our motorbikes we thought this place would suit us.
Very easy to find coming on from the North as it is located across the road from the Te Papa Museum.
Plenty of parking, most of it undercover. They do charge you $20 a day per parking space but we easily parked both the motorbikes in 1 space so made it cheap.
You walk into the lobby and all I can say is wow!!
Its decorated in....gentlemans club/ boudoir/ cigar club style. Everywhere you look is art, interesting art/ sculpture.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Quick and efficient with out rushing you.
We had booked an apartment room, a Premier Studio. Awesome!
Caught the lift to the 3rd floor. You need a security token to operate the lift.
The rooms are modern and clean and very 'grand'. Reminded us of the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney.
Big bath and separate shower with a rain head.
Kitchen has a dishwasher plus a cool espresso coffee making machine. ALso has a washing machine/dryer.
Bed was huge and comfy, nice big flat screen tv and a desk and chair and a chaise longue.
View out the window was into another building but wasn't a big deal. One of our friends had a harbour view and they could see Te Papa and the harbour but the room and facilities wasn't quite as nice as ours.
There is a pool and spa located on the first floor but we didn't try it cause it was full of kids. Looked pretty good though.
Centrally located, 5 minute walk to Bars and Restaurants and Shops and Te Papa.
Would def come back and stay again!

Room Tip: Apartment Building is better appointed but no views. They are renovating a lot of the HotelRooms.

Stayed here again late December and enjoyed the coffee and complimentary wine.
Had a suite with lounge and found this great for four days. Would recommend eating at Pandoro across the road for breakfast. The Hippopotamus restaurant has some neat views and décor. Good in the evening for a wine but not a great breakfast.

One of the better Wellington Hotels across the road from Te Papa.
One of my pet hates in being charge for internet usage, so found this tedious.

Room Tip: Get a suite with a spa bath and shower.

Stayed at the Museum Hotel for two nights after a long drive from Mt. Rapehu. Parking is available onsite. We had a king room facing the street, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Wifi access was free in the lobby, but needed to pay for access in your room. Enjoyed the hotel overall – good location located directly across the street from the Te Papa museum and walking proximity to many stores and restaurants. We also enjoyed the quirky décor throughout the hotel. Tried to dine at the Hippopotamus restaurant onsite, but failed to make reservations (our fault) and missed out. Since we were all dressed up and still hungry, the host suggested that we check out the bar menu in the lobby/lounge area. This was a great idea. We ordered several glasses of wine and a few small plates (quite good and just enough food) in a nice atmosphere.

Travelled with my parents, husband and a toddler in tow. It was a busy week so the 2 bedroom apartments were booked out, which was a pity as we had stayed in the 2 bedroom apartments previously. Had a 2 bedroom studio which was much smaller and a bit of a squeeze. Room was nice and clean.

Facilities in the hotel was great. Pool and gym was quiet so was great to have 'exclusive' use of it. The best thing about the hotel was how central it was to everything! Really convenient to get around anywhere, especially at nights where you're craving food. Just had to take a 5 minute walk outside and there's heaps of food choices, restaurants/cafes.

Will stay again when in town.

I think we are the best located Hotel in Wellington for visitors. Almost everything we have in Wellington is only a short walk (less than ten minutes) away. There are more than 50 Bars, Cafes and Restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Have a wonderful Christmas wherever you are and "y'all come back now"!

We stayed here for two nights on our trip through NZ. We were upgraded to one of the residence suites which was very nice. Accessed through the main lobby through their own lifts, the room was large with a built in kitchen, espresso machine and all the usual features.

A very comfortable bed and helpful, friendly staff.

There's a small gym and a nice pool.

The location is great, opposite Te Papa and close to many attractions and restaurants.

You must have seen most of Wellington in a week, being the great walking city that it is. You may have noticed that the Art theme of our Hotel is carried on throughout the city. Our Art collection now numbers well over 100 pieces, and we have been cited as one the TEN TOP ART HOTELS OF THE WORLD.
We have recently started a room refurbishment program, which we expect to complete in the new year. You'll will love the designy direction we have taken. And every room has an EXPRESSO machine.
