Owner description: Find out why 36 million New Zealanders can't be wrong. Okay, so there's a few tourists in there too. But that's how many passengers Interislander has carried over the Cook Strait since our first sailing in 1962. Cruise from Wellington to Picton in the stunning Marlborough Sounds in just over three hours on the three largest Cook Strait ferries in New Zealand. Extensive viewing decks, luxurious premium lounges and choice of cafes and bars. Plenty to keep the kids entertained - and plenty for mum and dad too. Cars, motorhomes, coaches- all vehicles are welcome, just drive on, drive off. And for the rental car providers that can't cross, just drop off your car at the rental depots based at the terminals then walk onboard - easy! Interislander's been doing this for over 50 years, so you know you are in good hands. And with eleven sailings per day, our timetable is bound to fit yours. Don't just cross the Strait, cruise it with Interislander and make your perfect holiday, perfect from the very start.

“Good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Nice staff and well-presented boats. Booked a cabin both ways but unfortunately on the way to Blenheim the boats had been switched. The purser completely refunded us and presented us with vouchers for food to make up for the inconvenience. Cabin on the return journey was clean and a definite bonus to have a base.

Could do with a little more selection in the cafe.

Attentive and responsive ticket staff. Amazing and highly recommended experience. Crossing as Captain Cook might have. Terrific for children.

“Amazing Sights”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

The crossing of these straits was an awesome experience, most enjoyable and pleasant, particularly when passing through the Tory Channel and Queen Charlotte Sound. We saw may small islands/islets including a large one, Arapawa. This was literally picture perfect. Strongly recommended.

“Good Staff ..Beautiful Scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Fortunate enough to experience good weather on this crossing which made it one of the most beautiful crossings ever.
The staff go above and beyond to make you're experience one that you won't forget. The information booth attendant is very knowledgeable and booked me accomadation in Kaikoura which he recommended which turned out to be fab.
I was really impressed with the staff ...very friendly and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty...with a smile!

“An Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

The seas were heavy for my trip on the Interislander, so I napped for most of it to combat the seasickness, but when I woke up it was calm and smooth, the sun was shining, and we were travelling through picture-perfect islands on either side. It was beautiful! As for the ferry itself, the staff were friendly and there were more than enough activities to choose from, although there was an extra cost for many of them.
