“A gem in Eastbourne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

A gorgeous house, beautifully decorated, with the lovely village of Eastbourne just a 5-minute walk away, as are the walking tracks to Butterfly Creek. We all loved the tranquillity, though the teenagers were also pleased to discover the PlayStation! Simply the nicest place we have ever stayed in New Zealand, and a highlight of this trip through the country. Thank you for your hospitality - we would love to come back!

The Walnut Tree B&B is better, by far, than any 5 star hotel you could possibly find!

It's the personal touch of being genuinely welcomed in Jasmine and Alan's family home! It's going downstairs in the mornings to find Jasmine had woken up early to lay us the most beautifully set table - complete with candles and fine crockery - and busy cooking us the most divine cooked breakfast. It's the special little gestures of a delicious chocolate waiting on the bedside tables every night. We felt very spoilt and looked after!

At the same time we had the privacy of the whole top floor to relax in after a full day of exploring Wellington. The hot spa was just the thing to unwind in after all that walking!

Jasmine and Alan have created a beautifully warm and gracious home that couldn't possibly be replicated by a hotel And we can't wait to go back for seconds one day! :)

What a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a girls weekend away! Our wonderful host - Jasmine, made us feel very welcome and relaxed. The breakfast was so yummy, that we couldn't wait to get down there on our 2nd morning! The accommodation was perfect - comfy beds, great shower pressure, huge tv, and the view was breathtaking. We'll be back!

We stayed 2 nights with Jasmin and Alan and really enjoyed it despite the windy weather! Everything about this gracious home from the meals to the bedrooms, lounge, little alcove pantry, bathroom and toiletries, was first class. My husband soaked in the spa pool just down the garden path. There was off street parking for our hire car.

This B & B ticked all the boxes for our Girls Weekend Away. Beautiful home with tasteful decor and many special little extras and absolute comfort for day time and night time living. So nice on a stormy day to relax in privacy in the spa or in front of the fire, pour the tea or wine and select the perfect DVD from a wide selection. Top this off with a big screen. Pretty hard to beat! The divine breakfast and caring host and hostess made this the perfect place to be.

The Walnut Tree B&B has a very special place in our hearts. Eastbourne is an idyllic seaside community, and the warm stay we had with Jasmine and Alan only made it more delightful.

The accommodation itself is not only top notch, but full of character. The amenities are truly stunning. Lovely firm bed - modern bathroom - romantic spa pool - huge lounge - fantastic tv & stereo (hidden behind a super-sized mirror!) fantastic views, good separation from the downstairs if you want it, ferry to Wellington just down the road in Days Bay, good pizza place around the corner from there too... on and on and on.

We had the entire top floor to ourselves, which was lucky as we stayed he the night we got engaged! Upon returning from Pencarrow Lighthouse (an excellent excursion "just down the road" and an romantic place to get engaged :), Jasmine and Alan welcomed us back with a bottle of champagne, and hugs all round. They are very friendly hosts with huge hearts.

Speaking of huge, look out for the breakfast. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. We had a total blast and would definitely stay again (if you'll have us back Jasmine - this review is nearly a year late!).

Room Tip: We slept in the main bedroom upstairs. Great view with a little path around to a relatively secluded...

Thank you so much for the thumbs up - but the privilege was all ours! We were honoured that you chose our place for your special occasion and would be delighted to roll out the welcome mat any time again. We had already had a wedding night and several special birthdays as guests but you guys topped the lot with our first engagement. Bonne chance!

Dear friends of ours bought us a voucher for two nights accommodation in March 2011 at The Walnut Tree B&B in Eastbourne. We had such a lovely stay. We had the whole of the upstairs to ourselves. The bed was extremely comfortable and luxurious, with wonderful views out to sea. All the ameneties were top class and the spa pool just topped it off beautifully. Friendly and very helpful hosts too and we joined the family for dinner on one of the evenings, we had a great time and the food and company was outstanding. Make sure you save plenty of room for breakfast too...it's awesome. Jasmin & Alan made our stay just exceptional, thank you to you both and we look forward to another stay with you soon.
