Description: Awarded TWO HATS Good Food Awards 2013, Supreme Winner Resturant of the Year NZ 2009Nearly 20 years after Steve Logan founded the restaurant, Logan Brown is still showing newcomers how to do fine dining. The neo-classical interior remains as plush as ever, drawing diners who wouldn’t normally brave the upper reaches of hipster Cuba St, while competent, confident service encourages adventurous choices from the Bible-length wine list. The kitchen, headed by Shaun Clouston, continues to turn out innovative, but not gimmicky, food. There’s a strong emphasis on local and seasonal flavours, with a nod to the huntin’, shootin’ and fishin’ enjoyed by the restaurant’s founders. The Rangitikei lamb rack, for example, comes with a full-bodied rabbit bolognese; the succulent line-caught snapper with tuatua fritters. Classic Kiwi flavours are embraced and showcased with a sense of humour – don’t miss the hokey pokey ice-cream sandwich. In brief: style, service and food you can bank on Said international guest judge, Ralph-Kyte Powell, "If I had to select an international flagship for New Zealand cuisine. Logan Brown would be hard to go past"

“NZ's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

The maitre'd and hostess are 2 of the most gracious and intelligent waiting staff I have come across in 25 years of restauranting globally. The menu is numero uno and Logan Brown should be a default dining choice when arriving in the capital of NZ. Well done.

“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Last evening my partner and I dined at Logan Brown. We chose the Bistro Menu. This is especially reasonable at $45 NZD per head. For this you get 3 courses of superb quality. As well you are seated in a top class restaurant. The service is very friendly and professional. The wind list is extensive.
For those who want the best restaurant experience but are wary of the prices the Bistro Menu is the way to go. In today's economic times this is the ultimate solution. Other similar restaurants are offering this type of dining. Also great if you're off to a show-dine at 5.30pm and out by 7.30pm.
I would eat here every week without hesitation!

“Absolutely a must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

A friend and I dined last night at Logan Brown, a restaurant that I have always wanted to visit. This is a 'must do' experience while in Wellington, despite the cost as it is worth every cent. We had amazing service with a waitress who could answer every question, even down to knowing the difference between a habanero and jalapeno chilli. The food was everything you could wish for, especially our mains of Hauraki Bass with Tuatua Fritters; seafood so fresh and superbly cooked. Loved the whole experience!

“One of the best in Wellington”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

This restaurant occupies a former bank building, dating back to the 20's, on the corner of Cuba Street and Vivian Street. It probably is one of the best in Wellington, not cheap, but well worth the visit. They created some marvellous dishes, have a fine wine list and impeccable service. Try to get a table upstairs, it is nice and cosy. Down stairs is a bit to noisy (the only draw back).

Even if you do not eat here: visit it to have a look at the bar. It doubles as a aquarium.
