“Well priced dining for how it positions itself. Recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

This restaurant is not fine dining in the same vein as Hippopotamus, Ortega, The White House, and other establishments that reside near it.

Nevertheless, it is exceptional value for what it offers. The food is delicate and enjoyable, the service is pleasant and warming, and overall it is a throughly satisfying dining experience.

I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone in Wellington who wants a pleasant dining experience in Wellington, without leaping into the $200-$600 dining for two expense category.

It's atmosphere could do with a bit more ambience and romanticism, but I won't let that deter from a very well priced dining experience.

“Great food in Wellington Centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Three of us ate here before going to the theatre. The service was friendly and the food delicious. The menu was not too large but with some innovative dishes.

“Extremely good food, service to match”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

We visited Two Souls for a special family meal on the recommendation of our son who has been several times and was very impressed. We were walk ins but it was no trouble to seat us. The wine list was reasonably extensive. We skipped the entrees and had a variety of mains -cajun fish (not over seasoned), fish and salmon, beef tournedos and steak. We had sufficient without ordering sides but very big eaters might want extra. We all did the chocolate and orange torte - very subtle orange and quite delicious -and chocolate cake. Service was attentive and pleasant. The only criticism is that, along with many Wellington restaurants, it is a little noisy and we had to strain a little to hear. We will be going back though.

“Do enjoy coming here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Restaurant Name: Two Souls
Location: 290 Wakefield St, Te Aro, Wellington
Date: 24th January 2014 (6.00pm)
Food Type: A la carte (Bistro)

_______________________________________

In Summary: (8.5/10)
Having reviewed this restaurant late last year I will dispense with my full analysis other than to say nothing has changed since then – great vibe here along with the friendly service – and for a mid-range priced restaurant that certainly goes a long way.

(1) Main. (6/10 – Overall yummy, but somewhat unsatisfying)
Free Range Pork Fillet – oven roasted, served with potato croquettes, shrimp & pork wonton, sauteed spinach, tropical fruits and fig sauce ($26.90)
It looked appetising enough. It tasted great, but just not enough on the plate to sate one's appetite. The combination too lacked any sort of harmony, almost akin to something I might have conjured up from a buffet table rather than an assortment of delicious morsels designed to compliment each other. A plate that if you were to put in front of me I'd be more than happy to indulge in, but not one I'd order for a main meal.

“Wonderful Night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Great food and great service. We were met by smiling staff as we entered. While this should always be the case it is often not. All through our stay they checked on our needs and were not pushy. It was great to watch staff who genuinely wanted to be of assistance and smiled as they did it.

The scotch fillet dish was superb although I would have preferred slightly more salad. My wife's lamb dish was also superb although again could have done with more salad.

Great value.
