The best fresh pasta in wellington! Nice selection of wine too. Good and efficient service. We'll return for sure.

“Superb Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

We only had a short time in Wellington and were exploring Cuba Street when we came upon this place. It had tables in the window available and we wanted to people watch so decided to give it a try. The service was very friendly and efficient. This was our first meal in New Zealand, so we were surprised by how high the prices were for what you received, but found this to be fairly consistent throughout New Zealand. The pizza was very good and we would go back. We enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance.

“So good we had to go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We came to Scopa first for lunch. It had been recommended to us by friends who had loved it when they visited. For lunch we shared a pizza and a rocket salad, and each had a glass of wine. The food was really great, fresh and tasty. The service was prompt and friendly. When we were there for lunch it was very quiet and intimate. We loved it and decided to return for dinner a few days later.

When we returned for dinner it was really busy: heaving with people. To our delight a waiter greeted us promptly and found us table right away. In spite of being rushed off their feet, the staff were incredibly prompt, friendly and professional.

This time we both had pasta, which was fantastic, and more of that great fresh rocket salad. We also both had a dessert. Both were lovely but my olive oil gelato was a standout experience that I will remember forever. It was so delicious and perfectly balanced. We finished with thick, rich hot chocolates and left satisfied and very happy.

Really a very polished, professional and friendly place, and well worth repeat visits.

“Wellington's best Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

This is my favourite Italian restaurant anywhere - run by second-generation Wellingtonian Italian restaurateurs so all the authenticity you could wish for in terms of its culinary roots and deep Wellington experience. Location is on a busy Cuba St corner (best part of town) but never feels too noisy or "street-ish". Great, genuine, helpful service too - and always quicker than they say. The risottos and the pasta dishes are just to-die-for, and the classic wood-fired pizzas are a family favourite (my daughter starts lobbying for a Scopa Marguerita pizza as soon as we mention eating out)... Garlic bread and a glass of Rose on a summer evening is also a favourite thing to do at Scopa! Can't fault it basically - really good when you need a delicious dinner solution for all age-groups (we meet Grandma there too quite often).

“Pleasant experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Service was good, food was very tasty, and wine was also good here. Atmosphere was also good and not too noisy. Prices were reasonable. This restaurant is in the Cuba street district, which is my favorite in Wellington. The restaurant is Italian and does both wood fired pizzas as well as pasta, risotto and other dishes. I had the risotto, which was very good. My dinner partner was also happy with her meal. We also had the pizza bread for starter, which was a good choice. I am not sure if I would get a pizza here but everything else looked good to me.
