“Graet vaue for money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

After reading other reviews was not expecting much but pleasantly surprised. Stayed in 1 bedroom suite. Yes, the couch not postioned right for the tv, but we just moved it! NO BIG DEAL! Yes, could hear outside noise in morning, but what do you expect when staying in middle of town. Good to have a dishwasher, fridge etc in room. Even had washer/dryer which we didn't use. Excellent bathroom with spa bath and good water pressure in shower. Bed and linen very comfy. Very helpful front desk staff who came up to help me operate the bath plug (whch sounds stupid but there was a trick to it) within 3 minutes of me calling to ask for help. Very conveniently located 1 min walk from a variety of restaurants and bars. Internet reasonable at $6.50 for 24 hours. Car park turns are tight, we have large car but managed fine. Just need to take them slowly. Easy checkout, receipt emailed promptly as requested.

Myself and my partner have stayed at Kingsview Hotel a number of times, and plan to keep going! We stay in one of the rooms with a king sized bed (which is very compfortable), overlooking the Library and towards the centre of town. The Rooms are very clean, and roomservice are really accomidating.
The hotel is located in walking distance to the main centre and the staff are really helpful if your stuck for something to do.
I saw at our last stay there is now a cafe/restaurant at the ground floor, which we intend to try next visit.
The only thing I would complain about is the cost of internet, which I reckon should be free!!

We went in off the street to enquire about rooms & prices for 2 nights and the young lady on the desk, Kelsey was very friendly and attended to our request very promptly and because of 1st impressions, we booked there for the 2 nights. When we got up to the room we were very happy with it, very spacious and very clean....it was all we needed for our stay. We were very close to the Strand, so eating places were easy to find and a 2minute walk.
The other reception person we dealt with 90% of the time was a happy young man who was super helpful and friendly but unfortunately wasn't wearing a name badge so I cant say his name to give him the praise he so deserved. I believe in great customer service and this property sure did deliver in this department.
The balcony was very small but the weather wasn't very nice so we never got to use it anyway...but the view was still good of the sea.
One bad thing I guess if I have to criticize is the shower looked awesome and I couldn't wait to have one but it wasn't very good, the shower head dribbled and the jets were more of a nuisance than anything!
Our room definitely had all the amenities one needed for a short stay and being very clean and spacious was great...I would stay here again :)

Such a wonderful stay in a very comfortable spacious room, highlighted by super helpful staff, notably mentioned Sam the duty manager, ever so helpful, Bonnie who went out of her way to cook us a meal, Kelsey who helped us find further accommodation, and Duncan the helpful manager- all cheerful and all so very helpful! This has been my favourite stay in new zealand so far!

Room Tip: Friendly room service staff also!

Booked Quest Tauranga as everything at Mt Manganui was booked out. Overall, was a good stay. Stayed for 6 nights.

Highlights:
- Good location, a downhill walk to the restuarants and town centre. Heaps of eating places on the Strand
- Spacious room - more of a studio apartment than a one bedroom, with partions around the bed area
- Microwave and an electric stove
- A cafe at the hotel
- Guy at the reception (Erin) was very nice and accommodated my room change and helped us to settle in
- Bed was comfortable
- Decor was nice

Lowlights
- Short stay rooms are only on level 1 & 2 so there isn't much of a view
- The balcony was a shared one
- Couldn't understand the arrangement of the sofa, it was against the same wall as the tv, but a seat was provided to watch tv
- The compendium said that the rooms were serviced daily except Sundays. in the 6 days I was there, the room was cleaned properly once.
- The cafe has very limited selection and opened at 8am daily (late when u r trying to dash to work)

Quest Tauranga seemed to be a relatively new build as everything was in as new condition. The room we stayed in was a very big studio apartment with full kitchen and dining facilities so the room itself made Quest a very nice place to stay. It is located a block or so from the main part of Tauranga so very central to restaurants and shops. The hotel room seem to be on the lower floors with apartments on the floors above so we didn’t get a great view from the small deck. Overall Quest Tauranga is a nice and modern place to stay and would easily go back again.

we grabbed a grab one deal and booked 2 nights away.on arrival we decided to stay longer but before committing i first wanted to see the room.we were pleasantly surprised after all the poor reviews we have read!!!this is not a 5 star hotel and the price reflects this!!!it is really clean and tidy and well set out.we had no problem staying here at all.it was like a home away from home!!the bathrooms are a little outdated but still very clean and functional.reception was a pleasure to deal with.we got really good advice as to where we could go for a lunch and clear instructions as to how everything in our room worked.the hotel is well situated and we walked to town and only used the car to go to the mount.we will return and we travel often too!!thanks reception staff you are all well mannered and pleasant!!!it would be nice to have a breakfast option included too but plenty of cooffee shops around so not a major.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 6 on the ground floor and it suited us well
