“Delicious food in cheerful atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

We visited the Bay Bar and Brasserie twice while staying in Acacia Bay, as it was only a 10 minute walk from our B & B Tauhara Sunrise, and had been recommended by our hosts. We were not disappointed! It has 3 menus - a restaurant menu, a bar menu and a pizza menu available for takeaway as well. We chose a mixture from the restaurant and bar menus. I had a most delicious John Dory on the first visit, and a boeuf bourgignon on the second, with a gorgeous rich sauce and a very light pastry topping (it would have been even nicer with less salt). My husband had a fish dish and a vegetarian dish from the bar menu, both of which he enjoyed. We had good New Zealand wines by the (large) glass, and nice puddings. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful, service friendly. A really good place to eat.

“worth a trip to acacia bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

we have now been eating at the bay bar and brasserie almost weekly for the past 8 months. the food is consistently tasty and well presented and the pizzas are outstanding (some are award winning!)
the owner (mark) is very involved with his restaurant, and the results are a well run eatery with a loyal client base.
the restaurant is well layed out with an area for upscale dining separated from the very engaging bar section.
"the bay" is very much worth the drive over to acacia bay.
