After looking for a place to dine for a special new years eve meal and walking around majority of the restaurants in Taupo's central city area, we decided to pick Dixie Brown's because of the wide variety of options they offered for both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians in our group. We were not disappointed.
Even though it was 8pm, the restaurant was very busy. When we made a reservation we had asked for a booth but were seated on a table instead. Although we didn't mind too much it would have been nice if they had of not asked instead of putting us in a different seat to the one we requested.
We were served promptly and our drinks and entries came at a decent time interval - the food was good (the pizzas were massive! one would almost have fed all four of us) and the portion sizes were pretty decent. The price was not 'cheap' but I feel like it was very reasonably priced in comparison to other restaurants in the area and for the size and quality of the food received.
In general, it was a very good choice for a special new years eve meal. Good service and good food!
