“Beautiful Falls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Not much of a drop, more a series of extreme rapids really but the boiling water is a beautiful turquoise colour and well worth the visit if you are passing. You can see the falls from viewing areas on both sides of the river.

A jet boat came up the river while we were there and I was hoping he was going to attempt to go up the falls but, sadly, this wasn't to be. It would have been extremely dangerous but I think it would have been worthwhile to entertain the viewers.

“FUN, Fun, fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

We did both the helicopter and Jet boat tour of Huka Falls and both were amazing!

Thrill seekers will lover the Jet boat's sharp turns and swirls and the scenery from both the water and the air is breathtaking.

“Do not miss”

It's hard not to get excited about the Huka Falls. If you do not have much time around Taupo, make sure you go to the falls.

“Huka Falls River Cruise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

My husband and I had the boat to ourselves. The captain was a wonderful guide, took us on over an hour cruise pointing out the history of the river. He went right up to the falls and took photos for us. Had a great day

“Highlight of Taupo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We parked up our campervan at the Taupo visitor centre and the lovely staff member suggested we visit Huka Falls and gave us a map of the walking trail. The start of the walk is a little confusing and we didn't realise that we'd need to walk through the bungy jump area to join up with the path again. Once we were back on track we had no problems. It is a fantastic walk and is surrounded by stunning scenery. It didn't take us long to get to the Huka Falls and they are simply breathtaking. We took longer on our way back and discovered some natural hot springs under a bridge. Everyone else there seemed to have come prepared with swimwear but we just jumped in in our underwear. It really is a beautiful walk and a great way to spend the day. Just make sure you bring your swimming stuff so you don't miss out.
