Thank you to Gail and Robert for your hospitality, your home is a credit to you. It is furnished to a very very high standard, spotlessly clean, the gardens and views are outstanding, the welcome drinks and endless cups of coffee were offered at all times, the breakfasts were outstanding, fresh fruit, cereal followed by full English and much more,we loved how you welcomed us into your home and made us feel like part of your family. We didn't enjoy very good weather during our stay but that was made up by staying with you and would recommend anyone visiting the area to give your B and B a visit they will not be disappointed. It was outstanding, excellent value for money and a gorgeous house to stay in,,, thanks Geoff and Pay

What a lovely, warming welcome by Gail and Robert, just what you need when you are tried from travelling most of the day. They could not be more friendly and helpful, from offering a glass of wine when we had settled in, to recommending places to eat and see in the area. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, particularly enjoyed the coffee too. Definitely a place to come back too and very close to town. The view is breathtaking even though it was wet during our trip. Wished I could take the dogs back with me they were so well behaved and friendly.

Please do yourselves a favour and stay here, you will not be dissapointed and we look forward to coming back! Thanks for the great stay Gail and Robert, you are doing a great job!

Thank you Sara for taking a little time out of your last few days holiday to write this review. We have had a fair few days of rain this week so it was a shame you did not get to see the mountain view in it's full glory - hopefully when you return it will oblige!
Good luck with the remainder of your studies and your exciting travel plans. Robert & I wish you both well. Thank you.

Stayed 2 nights with Gail & Robert in a beautifully decorated and super spacious room with absolutely every personal comfort covered in their welcoming B&B. Great touches like the heated mirror and night light in the bathroom made us feel comfortable and relaxed straight away. The guests 'kitchenette' is great and has a huge choice of herbal and fruit teas, as well as regular tea & coffee. We were made so welcome it was a real oasis in a hectic trip. As well as spot on local restaurant recommendation and good advice on local attractions, Robert offered to drop us into town to save us driving.
A lovely couple and a lovely place. Warmly recommend.

Thank you Fiona & Tim for taking time out of you holiday to write this review. The rain continued to pour down after you left yesterday but today the sun has come out and it has warmed up considerably.
I'm guessing you will be on a Napier wine tour today so I do hope you are enjoying it.
Thank you for you nice comments - we try to get 'everything just right' but to hear that we were able to offer you 'that bit more' is music to our ears.
Robert & I enjoyed meeting you and your company over pizza was very enjoyable. We hope the remainder of you trip goes well and that you continue to enjoy our beautiful country and it's great golf courses.

This property is about 10 minutes drive from Taupo and has a mountain rather than a lake view. Our host Gail was busy with some redecorations when we arrived, but she quickly got into stride and settled us into our room. The bedroom had a nice garden view and was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed a stroll in the garden accompanied by one of their friendly dogs. We chose to have the pizza dinner and Gail's husband Robert joined us for dinner. I must say they were some of the tastiest pizzas I have eaten, baked in their new purpose-built oven on the verandah. This b&b has a casual style, which we liked. A couple of unexpected guests from the US turned up during dinner and were soon joined into the conversation around the dinner table. We never actually got to Taupo town but the drive along the lake next morning made up for that.

As always we welcome our guest reviews and appreciate the time you spend writing them.
Our pizza oven is a new addition this year and so we hope to have many more enjoyable evenings with our guests. Unfortunately it was not warm enough to eat outside with these guests but we hope as summer warms up we will be able to sit around the pizza fire and stay warm a little further into the evenings. We are at nearly 600 m above sea level so we do get a little cool later into the evening - a big bonus though as we rarely get a humid night where it is hard to sleep!
What a shame these guests did not get to see much of Taupo. Hopefully they might return another time and spend some more time here. We would love to see them again at kauri Point.

We stayed at Kauri Point in October this year and were truly delighted with the quality of the place. Every inch is well thought out and high quality. The rooms are tastefully decorated and plush, and the bathrooms are flawless. The property is surrounded by beautfil gardens, sitting in the shadown of their own spectacular volcano, and everything was in flower when we visited. There is a large deck where you can sit out and enjoy the ambience, it was still a little cool when we visited still, but it would be amazing in summer. It's also a great location for seeing the stars, which were the best I've seen in ages on the clear night we had. The breakfast was excellent of course, and we had a very nice chat with Gail our host, who gave us some great trips on things to visit around Taupo, seeing some sights we might not have been aware of otherwise. Kauri Point is high quality accomodation, you won't be disappointed if you choose to stay.

Thank you Peter, we are delighted that you obviously enjoyed your stay with us in October. You certainly chose a great time of year to enjoy the garden as it is then that the Rhododendrons and Camellias are at their most spectacular. And we are so pleased we could lay on a great starry night for you!!!!! We are lucky to have a wonderful night sky, on a clear night it is truly breath-taking and unspoilt by light pollution.
Once again many thanks.. We hope we may see you again. Gail & Robert

From the moment you step into Gail and Robert`s lovely hosted B&B, you immediately note the eye for details the the couple have put into making this the best B&B we have stayed at. From the commercial coffee machine in the kitchen, to the heated mirror in the bathroom to the lovely wood fired pizza oven on the deck; every item, every modern convenience and stella service is paired beautifully to allow guests to experience 5 star luxury in this lovely setting just outside of Lake Taupo. My wife and I had a lovely night stay with Gail and Robert, which culminated with a lovely eventing of woodfired pizzas on the deck with some wine and great company. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to stay in Lake Taupo and we will hopefully be back in the future.

Our guest reviews are very valuable to us and our business. At a risk of repeating ourselves we do appreciate EVERY one of them, the good ones and any that have made a negative comment, criticism or suggestion. They all allow us to monitor how we are doing, and give us an opportunity to put in place improvements or guest suggestions.

Our newly installed wood fired pizza oven is proving to be a real success - we are gradually mastering the art of getting it 'just right' so it is music to our ears to hear that our guests enjoyed their pizzas. We will continue throughout the summer to have pizza evenings for our guests so please do come and join us!!!!!

Gail and Robert were very welcoming, showed us to a huge and beautifully appointed room then gave us wine on the deck in the sunshine. We immediately felt at home, and the creature comforts they provided were excellent. There is everything you could want, from a generously stocked guests' kitchen to the hot tub on the deck, with flip flops and towels available. Gail recommended a restaurant for dinner and we enjoyed a delicious meal there too.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, with big soft pillows. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
My only regret was that I'd have liked to stay much longer. Well done Gail and Robert, thank you for making us welcome house guests rather than customers. It's wonderful.
