“Sad that fish had to die for this”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

Well, what do you expect when you walk into a seafood restaurant and see fries & burgers on the plates of the other guests.
But even our low expectations were failed: the tiger prawns obviously went from fridge to fryer and had a gum-like watery taste. The seafood platter though ordered grilled came deep-fried and was cooked beyond recocnition.
Served with "coleslaw" and potatoes that tasted like worn socks (same consistence).

“For New Plymouth, 'average' is pretty good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2011

Possibly one of the longest established eating places in the city and its menu and environment are almost the same as fifty years ago. Good for a slap-up feed ob Fish'n Chips

“Slow service but good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2011

It took us forever to get seats, but overall the food was good. I can't remember what I had, but do remember it being decent.

“Night one in New Plymouth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2011

After a long day, the Hotel Restuarant just did not look enticing. Marinovichs however did! Fantastic Tarakihi crumbed with genuine home made chips and salad. Good service to top it off. Many thanks.

“traditional fish and chips in a cafe with some style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2010

Portions were too big - ask for a half portion to survive beyond the mains. Good value and well cooked though the beer batter was a little oily. The fish was obviously fresh and the setting ok. Dont go for inspiration but do go for good 'ol F&C.
