11 Kms of coastal walkway and cycle way - beautifully designed and landscaped. Winding past the city, beaches and over rivers - and the spectacular Rewa Rewa bridge

“Great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

Most refreshing place to visit in new plymouth, you can see the beautiful view of the see, fresh air. One of the best place for runner and skaters. Have benches to visit. Best time to visit in evening and basically in sunny weather. Quite impressive work by council by regular maintenance of the place. Plenty of parking available. Free after 5 o'clcok. Once you visit you will get it why its award winning coastal walkway. On walkable distance from the city. Connected to the suberb bell block which is the best thin for the people like me who stayed in bell block.

“Great for early morning workout or evening stroll”

Great place to walk or run with amazing coastal scenery. Wide enough for push chairs, wheel chairs etc. A great asset to New Plymouth - wish we had this at home

“A pleasant way to see New Plymouth's coastline”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Considerable investment has been made in this well maintained coastal walkway - an 11km long, wide concrete pathway stretching along the New Plymouth coastline from the docks to the New Plymouth velodrome. The full return distance (i.e. 22km) can be easily completed in 2-2.5hrs by bicycle, as the track has very few challenging gradients. Bikes can be hired from a number of outlets in New Plymouth - we hired two bikes for two hours at a total cost of $20. The route takes you through pastures, along the coast and across the Te Rewa Rewa bridge, where impressive shots of Mt Taranaki can be captured on a cloudless day. Well worth the time to ride along it on a good day.

Liked the scenery.
Watch out to the parking metres in this town / city - they do monitor them regularly
