2 night stay late July. Excellent at every level. Absolutely fantastic food - breakfast and dinner. Friendly interesting hosts who are happy to guide and advise on where to go and what to see. Lovely rooms. Easy going all round with truly excellent facilities.

Room Tip: Make this your choice if visiting Rotorua

After a 31 during trip through both Islands, we can not forget Springwater Lodge. It started with a very warm welcome from Katherine and Steve by our arrival. We could feel that warmness and friendliness during our 2 days stay.We enjoyed the very fine breakfast and the space and comfort of your B&B.Also the good information for us as tourist. We booked by Aussie Tours in Belgium and mentioned our experience. So a lot of thanks again for your hospitality.

Best Regards,
Johan Willemyns and Béni Desmet from Belgium (stay :23/02 till 25/02/13)

Not much to add to all the other reviews. I'd agree with all the positive comments about the wonderful hosts, warm welcome, cookies and cakes, local knowledge, lovely breakfast, good location, immaculate rooms etc. Would love to come back one day...

This was the best place we stayed in New Zealand. Katherine and Steve are great hosts. They made you feel so comfortable, you could have been at home, except here you got your washing done for you! Thanks for your generosity Katherine. A great experience of staying with a warm New Zealand family. Spacious clean rooms, great food, and lots to see in the area. On our first evening and throughout our stay we were given great information in planning our excursions around Rotorua. Thoroughly recommended.

Away from the sulphuric fumes, Katherine and Steve run a professional B&B, with a warm welcome, practical advice for things to do, and even an offer to joint their family for dinner. Comfy room, wide collection of DVDs for the guests to use (Once Were Warriors highly recommended). Would love to come back again!

We were warmly welcomed and after freshing up we got coffee with cake, cookies etc

As we were staying for two nights, we discussed with Katherine our plans and got a lot of tips and advice. She pointed us also to the short and nice walk right next door of the lodge along a small river where the water was as cristal so clear.
Breakfast is taken à la Le Pain Quotidienne.
When we're staying all the guest were at the breakfast table around 8:15 and we were discussing, exchanging experiences of the last and coming days. The breakfast itself is more then excellent, fresh fruits, cereals, bread and on top Katherine presents a selfmade breakfast surprise.

Steve is the man on the background but present if you need him.

We have left after two nights with giving them three kisses as we do in Belgium ;-)

There is a indoor and outdoor seating area near by the guest rooms. Katherine loves to bake so there is always something delicious to nibble on.You are welcome to bring a light meal or take aways home. There are plates, glasses, cutlery in which you are welcome to use. Otherwise, Katherine is happy to prepare you a delicious meal. Several types of birds and ducks live in this area as do of course our famous trout. You cannot buy trout in NZ - you must catch your own!Lake Rotorua is famous for trout fishing, but in our area also famous for having hundreds of 'black swans'. A 'country' 9 hole golf course is located alongside the springs walk - we have golf clubs available for those wanting to play a round.Family groups are welcome at the home of Katherine and Steve. They have two senior school aged children. There are games and books to entertain and a big front lawn to run about on. Only well behaved children can be accepted - children that will not disturb other guests in the night - otherwise a full house booking (all four rooms) is available. ... more   less
