“great location”

Very comfortable apartment . Excellent kitchen . Spacious living and bedroom area .Great view and secluded .
Rather pricey . Breakfast area disappointing: fairly noisy , breakfast available only from 8-9 am, , noisy environment, service limited and somewhat hurried , limited choice of fresh fruits , breads

This lodge is attractive with nice rooms. It is somewhat expenssive for what it is. A pleasant place to stay with no special features.

We only had the blessing of staying one night but wow what a great night. This place is gorgeous. Our room was not huge but plenty big enough for us and well appointed and you cannot beat the view. Right on the lake and you can use their kayaks if you like to take a boat ride on the lake. We didn’t get to do this but it would have been cool. They had a Jacuzzi right on the lake which was very nice and lots of birds around. Just beautiful. We were lucky enough to be the only guests that night so we enjoyed watching TV in the big main room (also the breakfast room) and it felt like it was our home. It was so comfortable there. The couch was so soft and comfortable. They have a computer for internet access and wonderful soft bathrobes. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I could not fault this lodge for anything at all. Bravo. It is not in the heart of Rotorua but that is a good thing. It was actually convenient to the Gondola up the mountain as well as the Rainbow Springs Nature park which I HIGHLY recommend seeing. Great nighttime kiwi enclosure.

A warm, fantastic lodge for my parents visiting from overseas, my husband and me. The rooms had all necessary amenities and very comfortable beds. We stayed in the family room - which had a joint bathroom - making us feel like we were in a home away from home. Our hosts who welcomed us every morning with a delicious breakfast made our stay all the better. And, of course, the view was a million dollar view of Rotorua lake and city. Couldn't get enough of the lakeside spa and sauna. I would recommend this place to anyone desiring a warm, relaxing, home-like place to stay - it will be no doubt an unforgettable time.

We had three glorious days here. The lodge is location on Lake Rotorua and a five minute drive from the main city center. Our room was roomy, clean and opened unto the lake. Gotta love that! There are kayaks for use in the summer, a small jacuzzi and plenty of wildlife for photographers. Tom and Louise (our hosts) were receptive to our schedule in terms of when we checked in, what times we wanted breakfast, etc. We were lucky to have been the only guests there - by traveling in the off-season- so it was quiet (which I'm sure added to our pleasurable stay) and had access to the computer in the lobby when needed. Wireless internet is not available which - the only downside - but Tom and Louise were receptive to the idea of adding it to, at least, the common areas. Not only were these guys excellent hosts, they were also valuable sources of information as to restaurant suggestions, sights worth seeing, etc. We will stay here again in our next trip to Rotorua.

Whilst the hosts ( managers), were efficient & charming, there was a disntinct lack of the homliness which we had enjoyed elsewhere in NZ, room was pokey , internet pathetic , the owner was quite objectionable when questioned about usage of own machine ( notebook) , Breakfast was OK , but continental, actually the experience was quite good due to the staff on duty at that time , parking was a little tight & the drive could do with resurfacing. The views over the lake were good , as was it's location , just 5 mins drive from town.

Thank you for your comments, we always look to improve and we will take your comments on board. We have high-speed broadband at the lodge, which is free of charge, therefore I am unsure why you thought it was not a good service. Our breakfasts are more than just a continental breakfast. We serve a huge choice of cereals, fresh fruits, breads, cooked meats, cheese, home made marmalade, yoghurts, preserved fruits and we also serve one hot dish of eggs or freshly baked muffins.

A great place to stay. Managed by a young couple Lousie and Tom who make sure you have everything you need. Both were warm and welcoming arranging trips as you needed. A view over the lake with access to kayaks unfortunately ran out of time to use them. Great breakfast to start each day with easy access to drinks when you wanted.
