My husband and I stayed in this hotel for one night in April. We have stayed in many Ibis hotels and this was one of the larger rooms we have had. The room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. We got a great price for the room but in hindsight we should have taken up the offer for breakfast for $15 as it is very expensive to get breakfast in town. We saw one place had toast for $12! Parking was easy.

Stayed here, as you do, to take in the sights, sounds and smells - excellent first stop in North Island.
Good value hotel, great location and fine for a short stay, easy enough to walk around town, the spa and civic gardens. You need transport for the tourist parks though.

Our bedroom faced onto the street but was not noisy and okay on size, overall a good standard for the money and nothing worn out. Breakfast was fine if not memorable, the staff we spoke to were friendly and courteous.

This hotel is an okay place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom kind of small. There was a wardrobe, but no dresser drawers. This wasn't a big problem for us as we were only there two nights. We walked almost everywhere we went, including Te Puia, Polynesian Spa, restaurants and shops. (We had to drive to Skyline Gondola, and take a bus to Mitai Village, as both were outside of town.) I wasn't impressed with the buffet breakfast. Though there was a variety of choices, it was simple (canned fruit as opposed to fresh) and not especially tasty. This hotel is not on the lake. Our "lakeview" room meant that we could see the lake in the distance from our window. I can't say if it is a good value compared to other hotels in Rotorua as the room was booked by a tour company and I don't know what the rate was.

this hotel is a gem, the staff are so genuinely polite friendly and helpful, which sadly is not a common thing in new Zealand hotels, it has outstanding free car parking facilities, our room had a lake view, a fridge and a free to use room safe. the breakfast is excellent and runs from 6-10.30,am,
