“big splash”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Yahoo, what a great improvement to an already wonderful place. The Trout are always impressive, and then to have this added Big Splash Log flume ride!! But expect to get wet, so it was great that we had a wonderfully hot and sunny day!!

“A Must See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

This was a really nice experience. I did the night tour after the Mitai Maori Village experience. You get to see all sorts of amazing creatures, and the highlight for me was getting to see some kiwis. Great guides and so nice to support such a worthy cause.

“Where kiwis play”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

A lovely park well laid out with nice blend of native and introduced animals, awesome trout throughout the park with some lovely parrots here and there and the only place around where you can view Kiwi by day in the nocturnal enclosure or I really enjoyed coming back after dark to see them outside. More Kiwi, or kiwi oriented displays would be better than some introduced parrots flying around after all "where kiwis play" is the slogan

“Good for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

I've been here a few times over the years and often bring overseas visitors here. New this time was the log flume - it adds a bit of excitement to the place. If you want to see the kiwi you need to come late, but it's good to see tuatara and trout. They are training up some birds for a show, but they have only just started it, so they should have a better performance in a year or so (though even now it wasn't bad). It's a bit pricey though, and our 16 year old was classified as an adult which didn't help.
