We have just returned staying 4 nights at Novotel Lakeside in Rotorua. My husband was attending a work conference in Rotorua and as we are Accor Club members decided to stay here rather than at the hotel where the conference was being held (this was also due to some research I did on TA with not so good reviews on the conference hotel).

We were very pleased with our choice to stay here, the location is great right near the Lake and almost opposite the Mall with cafe's/restaurants. It was a very easy walk to the main street of town to Information Centre & shops etc.

Our room was on second floor, located at the end of the building so we had 2 lovely big window's to look out. The room was extremely spacious with large bed, sofa to sit on, TV, in room safe, mini-bar/fridge & tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels.

The room had internet access $10 for 2 hours 10MB or $34 for 24 hours & 100MB, which I thought was a litle pricey compared to some hotels we have stayed. There are 2 computers in the lobby available for guests to use free for 20 mins.

The hotel has a guest laundry on the first floor which we used, there is also a heated indoor swimming pool & 2 hot spa's. They also had private plunge pools.

We ate at the restaurant on 3 occasions (1 breakfast & 2 dinners), I could not fault the service or food. The ala-carte dinner menu is devine and cooked to perfection, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the restaurant.

A nice touch we liked was the evening mint chocolates left in our room each night, something you dont see much of anymore !

Had a great stay at Novotel Lakeside & would definitely stay here agian or recommend the hotel to travellers.

The lakeside hotel novotel is a getaway from the hustle and bustle... but not too away. close to the hotel is a pizza hut... people with kids are you reading... walking few minutes you are in the heart of rotorua. the rooms are spacious for two people. you can easily accomodate kids if you are a family of three. cleanliness hospitality all meets the standard. the in house spa is brilliant with private pools which are not big but can accomodate two in sitting positions. the breakfast is a huge spread of good food. the excursions are very well organised... try the maori culture very informative, ethnic way to understand their history. the farmers store is all over new zealand and is good for shopping. dont miss the adventure zone and farming expeditions.

The Novotel in Rotorua is a pleasant hotel with a great location close to everything. The rooms are nice and spacious with comfortable beds. I would reccomend requesting a lake view room otherwise you'll end up with a view of a carpark. The hotel facilities are excellent with a heated thermal swimming pool, two spas and saunas and a decent gym. The hotel bar has specials everyday with very good prices. There is free internet available in the lobby. Overall, I was pleased with my stay and would stay there again.

We could not fault the hotel, the room we were given was very spacious, spotlessly clean, with an awesome view of the lake in Rotorua. Very central to wherever we wanted to go, walking distance to an array of restaurants and shops.
The staff were obliging and helpful at all times.
The Front desk staff at check-in and check-out were promt and efficient.
The food and beverage dining area was spacious, clean and the food was of excellent standard and value. the staff were quick to take your order and knew their menu and quick to recommend the special of the day.
I would highly recommend the Novotel to any of my friends or family who wish to travel to Rotorua.
