“Very relaxing weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

My partner and I have just spent 2 lovely nights at the resort after buying a Grab 1 deal for the murder mystery dinner. What a wonderful place and very down to earth friendly staff, from Jennifer on reception, Tash and the lovely lady in the restaurant (I cant remember her name) they all went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. The murder mystery dinner was very enjoyable and fun, the lovely Stella on Sunday night was also enjoyable and made dinner in the restaurant very pleasant listening to her angelic voice. We will definatley be back. Thank you :-) - Carole and Ronald

Had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights in early June. You need a car as the location is15 minutes from Rotorua centre. Stayed in a downstairs Lakeview room, the room was huge and very clean. The meals were very good quality, I had both breakfast and dinner, and the live music on the Sunday afternoon was delightful. The open fire is very welcoming and has a lovely spot to sit and chat around it. Overall a great hotel to stay at

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms overlooking the lake are beautiful.

Stayed at Amora Lake Resort over the weekend with my hubby and 2 year old son! It truly is as picturesque as the photos show. The service was warm and friendly, our room spotless and very homely with gorgeous little touches from housekeeping (tucking my sons teddy's into bed).
The breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic - again very warm and friendly service. The setting is truly unique and felt like a real escape! It was great to be busy all day visting the sights and attractions with our son and coming home at the end of each day to our tranquil little spot right on the lake! Highly recommend for honeymooners or couples looking for a quiet weekend away and families alike with so much to do! Bikes, peddle boats, playground, swimming pool and spas! Would definately stay again!

We went to the Amora Lake Resort for a weekend away.and this resort we picked as we had often driven past.Duly booked a suite and were told by various people that the place is tired and needs an upgrade.
Well, were these people ever wrong!!!!From the moment I made contact as we were late arriving and being informed that that was no bother ,this was Tash the receptionist,to our arrival. The staff were fantastic, the reception we received was genuine and and you were made welcome.
The suite was spot on and very clean and well appointed.Downstairs in the restaurant the same type of welcome and the food was fantastic and plentiful. The wine selection was solely New Zealand and for a red wine drinker who only drinks Australian was converted to a beautiful red on advice from the maitred d'.
The resort is an haven of piece and tranquility. We relaxed.Even the checkout you were still treated llike one was special and none of the usual get you out of here attitude more prevalant in the Rotorua hotels.
Thank you to all the staff, we are coming back!

We stayed at the AmoraLake Resort Hotel with friends from New Zealand for 7 days. The resort was well laid out and peaceful at night.

The resort has lovely views and the grounds are well maintained. The only problem was that Rotorua was a bit of a drive for tea or shopping.

If you want a quiet peaceful holiday with breathtaking views this is your resort.

With an easy drive to Rotorua, this is a great spot to stay. There are some beautiful walks around the other lakes and a great cafe come deli a few minutes drive down the road. The grounds of this hotel and its location right on the lake say it all in regard to atmosphere. The rooms however should not have 2 beds. They are far to small to hold 2 doubles. As great as this may be for travelling familys, as a couple you could barely move around them. The upstairs suite is fabulous but pricey. We stayed in off season and felt like the only ones staying. Having the covers on the spas made for an uninviting look.

Room Tip: Check the rooms out before you commit to stay
