“Quiet Rural Retreat a Launching Pad for Rotorua”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Blossom Cottage is a picturesque escape from busy Rotorua. Choose a major activity [and possibly something extra] each day then retire to the serenity of your own "home". Extra such as breakfast items [yummy bacon], collecting eggs, feeding animals, plus helpful hosts make this a special place to stay. Wifi is included and the spa and outdoor shower are all first rate. Close enough to Rotorua to reach all the local attractions. We Aussies loved it and would happily return.

This is a beautiful cottage in a rural farm location. Well maintained and equipped for a short or longer stay. Hosts are very helpful and friendly and offer special extras like fresh eggs daily from their own hens ! Great and safe place for children with donkeys, sheep & hens to feed.
Hot tub outside for star gazing.
Quiet & peaceful escape from busy Rotorua, only a short drive away

Cottage is in very good condition with all amenities we needed and more. Our son loved the soccer goal, table football and table tennis whilst our daughter enjoyed the lamb, donkeys, rabbits and chickens. After our day time activities around Rotorura we were always surprised with some cake on arrival back at the cottage. Thanks for excellent stay.

Blossom Cottage was a delight to say the least. The whole family were warm and welcoming and went that extra mile (frequently) to make our stay a memorable one. We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone, particularly those travelling with small kiddies.

Love it!!!

The apartment is very well maintain and elegantly decorated. Kitchen is well equiped with cooking utencils and cutlery so you could prepare your own meals (not to forget to collect the eggs directly from the hen pen). There are little animals like rabbits, donkey and sheep; fun to feed and play for both children and adults. Overall a very enjoyable stay we had at Blossom Cottage. My personal favorite is to do stargazing while relaxing in the modern hot tub outdoors. There is also a gas operated BBQ pit (its a pity we didnt use it during our stay).

Stayed at this neat little pad last week. This is an amazing little cottage that 's well-equiped with everything you could want on a short break. Kitchen was even stocked up with an array of spices. Asked Marianne how to prepare New Zealand's famous green-lip mussels and she advised me to throw it on the bbq grill, which worked wonderfully! Sprinkled the mussels with garlic/salt powder available in the cottage and it was simply delish! Although this cottage is set in the countryside, you'll have your own wifi and it's not too far from Rotorua.
Animals were so tame; loved the hens most, and the eggs they laid each morning. Never tasted eggs so good!!
Very cosy and clean. The hot tub is great too, convenient to soak in after the bbq. Trampoline available too.
You can even do your laundry since there's a washing machine and a dryer to use at your own convenience. Thus, not too much to wash when you get home!!

Hi Shalynne, We appreciate you taking the time to submit your kind review and are pleased that you, Badrul and the children enjoyed your stay at Blossom Cottage. We loved watching the Mika and Miakaela having fun running around in the meadows and feeding our mischievous animals and we are glad that you appreciated the amenities, hot tub and freshly-laid hens' eggs. Hope you have a happy and healthy 2014!

We really enjoyed our stay at Blossom Cottage. Renee and Marianne are excellent hosts and really made it special for us after our long day. They also made it special for my six year old nephew as he went with kids to feed the animals which was really neat experience for him. We had a very relaxing night and enjoyed the hot tub under the stars which was amaaazing. Thank you Marianne and Renee. I wish we could stay longer and definitely expect to go back again. I highly rate this place as I felt at home and thoroughly enjoyed it.
