“Restful, clean, and beautiful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

We stayed here in October for 4 nights and were very impressed from the moment we met the owner and received her friendly welcome. A separate bedroom, kitchen facilities, lounge-sitting area, bathroom, balcony made our stay very comfortable. The views out across the water were stunning. The 10-15 minute walk to the shops made it an ideal location.

Room Tip: Choice of ground level or one floor up. We stayed on the upper level. We chose the 1-bedroom apartme...

Simply put you cant go wrong here. exellent value and I would recommend it. one word of warning! it is at the top of a steep short hill. this gives amazing views over the bay but you would need to take this into account if you have a heart condition.

My partner and I decided to take a spur of the moment romantic trip up north. we booked the a room using the wotif website. we found the aloha to be an amazing place to just get away from it all. The service was amazing. the room was neat and tidy and most importantly the views were totally breathtaking.

We had plans to have dinner in town and just retire to our room for the night, but when we sat on our balcony overlooking the water, it was apparent that we just didn't need to go out. So we totally enjoyed each others company with a bottle of wine and a cheese and cracker plater and watched the sun go down. I would recommend the aloha to anyone.

Room Tip: we booked our room using the wotif website.

We stayed here for 4 nights in the new year. Travelling with 5 children. Plenty for the kids to do, and keep them occupied, while we relaxed a little (with this amount of kids, there isnt a lot of relaxing happening). Really nice outlook, safe and clean pool. The hosts were really helpful, with excellent local knowledge. The room, was a 2 bedroom appartment, and big enough for all of us.

We had a large modern garden view (actually parking lot) room away from the pool. We like this location for the quiet and privacy. The units on this side have nice large semi-enclosed courtyards. The management is quite good and friendly. It is a little out of town but only a 15 min. walk. The wifi worked well. The afternoon sun made the room a bit warm but the large glass doors helped it to cool down fast.

Room Tip: There were quite a few families with kids so if you want a quiet and more private room ask for a roo...

On arrival we found we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment - lovely surprise. Our room was large and airy, clean and modern with the kitchen extremely well equipped. The furniture was clean and comfortable. The balcony overlooked the pool and had a fantastic view of the Bay of Islands.
The pool was a good size, temperature and was clean with lots of sun loungers. We used the games room ( table tennis, pin-ball, computer, books etc), the play area and trampoline and the wash facilities ( washer and dryer -were good value). The hot tub was relaxing.
The owners arranged our dolphin trip for us and we were collected from the motel.
It was an easy 10minute walk into town ( uphill on the way back) and a quiet location. The supermarket was the opposite end of town so we did drive there but it was not far.
We wish we could have stayed longer than the 2 days we had here!

Room Tip: the rooms overlooking the pool have the best views

Stayed 4 nights in late April and used it as a base for exploring the region. Had a 2 bedroom unit which was very comfortable.
The hosts were very helpful and the facilities were very good. Even had a game of pool and table tennis in the games room.
A bonus was having free wifi as I had to do a bit of computer work.
A nice spot which I would recommend and stay at again.
