The hosts were very helpful and outlook from accomodation was lovely. Kings Nook room was ok, bit dusty, otherwise clean. Thought it was a B&b which usually means breakfast included which was our oversight. Overall not great value for money.

Crisdon Castle is amazing. We stayed here for 2 nights in the Knights Nook. Great place, great location, just a couple of minutes drive out of Paihia. These where our final 2 nights in New Zealand after 4 weeks of traveling from south to north. Absolutely great!
Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everybody.
As Cris mentioned at breakfast, an other morning in paradise!

Room Tip: The pool make's the view great. Looks great and definitely adds something to the place. The thin...

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. You never tire from the ever changing spectacular views. Chris and Donna are great hosts, creating a relaxed haven for one to pass the time away and rejuvenate the soul. From the colourful sunrises to the wistful moon rises, the panoramic views allow one to capture every part of the the beauty, adding to the memorable stay. Our only complaint is that our stay was not long enough. Something I plan to remedy on our next visit. A very special thanks to Chris and Donna for making our 20th Wedding anniversary even more special. Mike & Dawn

Not enough stars to rate this property. We had to make some changes due to a death in the family and Chris and Donna accommodated us completely. We got to stay in the amazing Royal Suite which was a fantastic place to relax after a stressful few days. We then enjoyed the knights nook. Both rooms are thoughtfully decorated and have great sized and comfortable beds.
We highly recommend the eggs Benedict - best breakfast in Paihia - as quoted by my chef partner! Chris and Donna were warm and helpful and we look forward to our next trip back to the Bay of Islands and Crisdon Castle.

Room Tip: Royal Suite for extra luxury!

We booked three nights after Christmas and were upgraded to the Kings retreat... And what a retreat it was! The room had two balconies to enjoy the spectacular view of the Bay of Islands. Chris and Donna were away for 2 of our nights and we were well looked after by Irena and Dwayne. We enjoyed a wonderful home cooked breakfast every morning. The bed was comfortable with luxurious sheets. The shower had fantastic pressure. It was great to have accommodation with laundry facilities. It was a great base to explore the Northland region. Wish we booked for longer.

I booked my partner and I into the Queens Quarter apartment for a two night escape from Auckland.

The room was spacious and clean, the 4 poster bed in the master bedroom is a nice touch.. We had two private patios, one outside the master bedroom and the second outside the lounge. Both patios are private and provide beautiful views across the reserve and ocean. The only noise you hear is nature and the occasional hum of a boat engine in the distance.

On Sunday morning we woke up and soaked up the spectacular views across the reserve and ocean. All we could hear were the birds, bees and a few distant boats starting their engines for a bust day in Paihia.

After experiencing the view and privacy of the apartment I decided that it was the perfect place to drop to one knee and propose to my now fiancée.

If you are looking for a weekend getaway where you can really relax and recharge your batteries Crisdon Castle is the perfect place for this.

TIP: Crisdon Castle is a 3 minute drive from central Paihia so whilst it is very private you are still only minutes from the action and adventure available at Paihia.

We spent three wonderful nights in October 2013 at Crisdon Castle with Chris and Donna as the perfect hosts. We stayed in the Queens Quarters and enjoyed our own privacy with being able to come and go at our own leisure without interrupting anyone else. The views from our suite were postcard picture perfect. There were many private terraces to sit on and take in the view which were a lovely spot to relax. Our self-contained suite was perfectly appointed with everything one would require to enjoy a private vacation yet have the availability of Chris and Donna's local knowledge and advice on what to do and where to go to make the most of a wonderful area of visit. We will most definitely plan another visit to Harura Falls and enjoy some more hospitality and great times with Chris and Donna. Thanks guys, from Phil and Kay Leck

Room Tip: All rooms at Crisdon Castle have spectacular view and are very private.
